Yall almost blew it... I like Wes Moore, but if y'all would have lost, it would have been 100% on him
1000%

It was chaos all around me during that time. We had 2 fouls to give and the way the ball was inbounded towards mid court there was ample opportunity to get a hack in.

There was also a fan having a heart attack as that was happening in our section. It really happened a possession or two before that. So everyone around us was waving their arms and screaming for help to no avail. Finally someone caught wind of it and that led to a delay in the game. But was just an overall weird vibe…all out ear numbing noise full of emotion and passion for the game - then a pin drop and nerves as they were doing cpr and using a defibrillator and then go right back to playing ball.

I hope and pray the fan is ok. Hard to flip the switch and get fully invested in a game again after seeing all of that.

Overall it was the best atmosphere of the season in Reynolds I thought. The Duke game was right there as well. But this was as good or better than that or the UNC games over the years or the Tennessee or UConn game last year. People arrived early and every seat was filled before the tip.

You could tell Zoe and Hidalgo had some personal competitiveness going on. A lot of stares and chatter between them - they are both from NJ and the same graduating class so I assume they have played a lot over the years. Zoe was ultra aggressive looking for her shot and for the most part played fantastic. I really thought Tilda was a major difference maker. For most of the year I wouldn’t have dreamed we’d ever have an advantage at the 5 but she’s really rounding into form down the stretch.

Sonia Citron was super clutch for ND. Was probably most impressed with her and King for them. Obviously miles and HH are phenomenal, but Hidalgo scored 26 on 26 shots … not efficient today.

This win makes the UNC loss hurt doubly. Up 6 late - win that one and now State is first in the conference with SMU and wake on deck. But, State blew that one and will most likely have to settle for 2nd.

I am curious to hear Wes interviewed. I hope someone asks him about the not fouling there - completely blown by State there. No argument from me. Thankfully it didn’t cost them and allowed for 10 more minutes of high drama and entertainment.

Florida St. edged Georgia Tech on the road 73-70. Are the Jackets in free fall? Have lost 3 of 4. Looking at their schedule, they beat North Carolina right at the beginning of conference play, other than that they've lost to all the good teams and have fattened up against the bad teams. Finish up with the Bay Area road swing, could easily lose both of those.

ACC is low key impressive. NC State is pretty scary. They got plenty of experience from last year and this wasn't really a fluke from Trygger. She's the solid big everyone knew they needed to keep things going.

Unc keeps winning. And Louisville keeps proving that they are a good team.

I heard him in an interview postgame say they talked about fouling in the timeout but didn’t get it done on the court. So apparently he DID want to there and I guess James didn’t execute for whatever reason? She certainly could and should have the way it all set up.

I’m a homer, I’ll admit that up front. But I really don’t see a ton of difference in the top half of the ACC and the top half of the BIG10. I think you could argue the ACC is on par with the BIG10.

I don't, either--and I began the season as a HUGE ACC skeptic.

Some of the B1G teams found a way to game the NET again (Penn State tried this last season, but to no avail), so perhaps that's factoring into why their conference is more highly regarded. I do think that NC State's win over #1 Notre Dame and the season that UNC (ugh) is having are helping to change perception a bit here recently, but the damage is already done. B1G will have at least 11 teams in the tourney while the ACC will have, at most, nine. Now, most of that is due to the failures (mainly coaching) of Stanford (ACC preseason #7), Miami (preseason #8), and UVA (preseason #9), but still.

My takeaway is that the ACC and even the new Big12 can climb back up to have a true P4. I had some concern pre season that the rich would get richer and SEC and Big10 might really separate from the field.

Big12 has been fun and competitive. ACC just has so many great historic schools. I don't think they are going away, even in football.

As much as Stanford in particular and Cal to some degree as well have struggled in road games in the ACC, for the most part the rest of the conference haven't fared all that well when they head west. GA Tech @ Cal and Miami @ Stanford are both taking double digit losses tonight.

It was actually Hanna Cavinder leading the Canes in scoring w/ 19. She used to be a big scorer at Fresno St. but it didn't follow her to Coral Gables. I'm wondering if that's the most she's scored in a Miami uniform.

Not much on tap for Friday. Biggest game I think has to be Princeton @ Harvard. Those two are tied for 2nd in the Ivy, one game behind Columbia. With 3 games remaining this one is pretty much an elimination game, winner still has a chance at the conference title. Of course I'm assuming Columbia doesn't stumble at home against a not particularly good Brown team.

You know, that gets me thinking. Is Brown the forgotten member of the Ivy Conference? I don't think I've EVER heard anyone reference the school, either for academics or athletics, ever. Ever. I mean it's an Ivy so it must be a top notch institution, but it's almost like it doesn't exist and never has. I had to look up where they are located just now, had no clue, and also after a lifetime of following sports I didn't even know their mascot.

Brown at the moment considered very sexy among the hip kidz.

5% acceptance rate, roughly 2500/50,000 apps.

Providence is an amazing college town. Brown, Providence and Rhode Island School of Design all together. Easy train to Boston ( or even NYC), easy drive to beach on the Newport Coast. 4 season weather with skiing close too.

Among Ivies, Brown has most flexible academics, with no core/distribution requirements.

So yes, quiet, non polarizing, but much loved...quiet in sports too.:(

Since this is a WCBB forum, this might be off-topic; but seeing these posts about Brown brought back some wonderful (and funny) memories for me.

Back in the day (mid to late 1970's), when I was a student at UConn, we had quite a men's soccer rivalry with Brown. Both schools fielded very good teams and the games were epic.

The games at UConn against Brown were always must-attend events for the students and, despite the chilly weather, the stands were always packed. The UConn students had one cheer in particular that we would do several times during the game: One or more student(s) would bellow out, "What's the color of s#!t?" And everyone else would yell in response, "BROWN!"

College humor. Good times.... ;)

Sorry everybody, I put this in the wrong thread. Thought I was on the weekly round up thread rather than the ACC specific. My mistake.

Is 6:19 AM too early for some Milds and Hendog? Maybe I will wait until later after I get to watch the game.

Gotta feel great for Richadson. She has been in a slump for quite a while and broke out of it on Senior Night. I remember she had a chance to win the first game in Chapel Hill in regularion, but missed a jumper in the final seconds. She was in tears during the timeout between the end of regulation and the start of OT. She definitely got her redemption tonight... as a NC kid in front of all of her family and friends.

In the first matchup, Fournier went 0-8 from the field (maybe still feeling the effects of a concussion) Had 19 points 10 rebounds and 2 filthy rejections. I think she wrapped up ACC rookie of the year tonight
