While watching Duke cut down the nets after the 2013 ACC tournament... I said to myself.. With Notre Dame and Louisville entering the conference, it might be awhile before I get to see my team cut down the nets again. Little did I know it would take 12 years to see it happen again.

That being said ....

I got a 5 year old unopened jug of Pink Lady Apple Cider from Perry Lowe Orchards (in the NC foothills) that's be sitting under my kitchen sink waiting for a special occasion. @Ladeeeeda you want a cup?:D:)

Agreed. Wish it was staying in Greensboro.
I understand change is disruptive but Dallas seems to be closer to the physical center of the ACC now. (Obviously I'd go but Atlanta with it's air access and driving access seems possible.) I haven't done a travel time calculation for each team so that's likely wrong but why is it always where the same 7? teams are playing at home?

I know the ACC management will never let it move more than 100 miles away but as fan attendance increases I hope they consider it in a few years. It's a foolish hope I know.

Idk - I can’t imagine the ACCT in Texas! I get SMU is there. I get there are 2 California teams … but moving to Texas you are hoping that just general public shows up. Attendance increases in Greensboro because you have 4 charter schools all within a 1 and a half hour drive to the tournament. UVA, VT and Clemson not far away either.

I just don’t think the demand is that high for general public attendance like that when you put the tournament that far away. Technically that would be the middle of the conference but it requires a long flight from 17 of the 18 schools to attend. Dallas isn’t exactly ACC country.

The men’s has moved around to DC and Atlanta and that’s done ok. But I think it’s a little different with the men’s sport and also it still does best in NC. It’s largely an event that won’t get many people to fly to IMO.

In a perfect world, yes I think it would be cool to rotate and give other schools fan bases the opportunity to “host” and drive to the games. In reality I think it would be an absolute ghost town if they moved it to say Dallas one year, San Fran another year, Tampa another etc.

Most fans I know attend more spur of the moment depending on match ups and if their team is making a run and being located within driving distance to 7 schools makes that a real easy option.
