Have to imagine we will offer soon. He's class of 2026 so still plenty of time.

I was there. I’m in that Twitter video. Best high school player I have seen recently. Shot the three very well, a ton of elevation on his shot, unselfish, obviously off the charts athleticism. Sources tell me he wants UCONN, but yes, Cal assistant/recruiter was there in his Arkansas jacket…

wouldn't worry too much about the lack of offer so far. There's many reasons to wait.
genuinely curious, what are some good reasons to wait to offer a bonified 5* like him? i can see waiting to offer a developmental guy but that's not the case here. guys always talk about "the first school to offer me" etc when it comes to making decisions so it matters to some. plus an offer isnt binding.

And he's a great student too. No academic concerns

So he's going to Sacred Heart? :p
Next....

His cousin is his teammate and his little brother is an 8th grader playing varsity for Hamden Hall. A lot of basketball talent in that family.

It's still very early in the recruiting process. We didn't even offer Adams, Mullins, Reibe until Maybe-June this year.

He's not a very good 3-point shooter yet, and our offense requires shooting. The staff may be saying "we want to see you improve your shot before you get that real offer."

Maybe they just want to make the offer feel special and exclusive instead of handing them out willy nilly.

Maybe there's some off-the-court issues we don't know about, but I doubt we'd be investing as much time as we have unless the staff really thinks he's going to fit our program. We aren't giving him free tickets to the Baylor game behind the bench for no reason.

Hamden Hall is a dumpster fire. I hope the kid can get into a different program.

I know we like him a lot, and he’s been unofficially hosted at a couple games already this year

Just when I see Arkansas getting alone time with the family in the state of CT I get concerned. That’s all

lol ya this doesnt' matter anymore. This is like reading a comment from 2007. Academics!!

OH NOOOO what's our APR!!! so glad that charade has died.

To “offer” a five star in advance of being able to tell him what his NIL package will be is utterly meaningless, and just a remnant from a prior time. If we haven’t “offered,” it’s because he isn’t interested in staying close to home or Hurley isn’t making offers until he can make the only one that counts, which is with dollars attached.

UConn, the two-time reigning national men’s basketball champion, has also shown interest. UConn associate head coach Kimani Young went to see him play in the SCC tournament semifinals and assistant Tom Moore in the SCC championship game two days later.

“I’ve been talking to them. It’s going good. Everything is a process. You have to be patient,” Toure, who will turn 17 in August, said about UConn.

He also made an unofficial visit last February, attending the UConn-Villanova game at Gampel Pavilion.

Shea said “UConn is absolutely in contact and following Abdou at all of these events.”

There's probably not too many schools who will play an 8th grader on varsity.

Interesting view by Minaya on how to build a roster through recruiting.
