Come to PC, where we have so few good seasons to reflect on, we instead hyper-focus on Ed Cooley. Join us in our effort to beat Ed 2x/year and hang those banners.Come to Providence, we're on the cusp of maiking the NCAA tourney's second weekend for the 2nd time in the past 30 years. These are exciting times here at PC.
STM and South Kent are completely different from Trinity Catholic. Those are boarding schools. Trinity Catholic (which, sadly, no longer exists) was a locals school, with a small portion of its student body who commuted from the surrounding communities. Port Chester, NY is only two towns over from Stamford, with Greenwich sitting between them. Rash was considered a local kid when he played here in Stamford. Definitely not a prep kid. Nope.Rash Jones is obviously outside the 15-20 year window but he brings up a dilemma. He went to school at Trinity Catholic in Stamford but he's from Port Chester, NY. Does he count as a Connecticut kid? I say no. If he counts then every kid that went to places like St. Thomas More and South Kent (when they were bringing in national talent) would count as a Connecticut kid.
I hear you but in my opinion he wasn't from Connecticut since he was born and raised in New York. He grew up in Mount Vernon, NY, the same place Ben Gordon is from. Not sure when he moved to Port Chester but I think he went to school in Mount Vernon through 8th grade. His senior year at Trinity Catholic he was the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year so I can see why some would say he's from Connecticut.STM and South Kent are completely different from Trinity Catholic. What if a kid from Springfield commuted to Suffield Academy everyday as a day student. In your opinion would he be a Connecticut kid?
It's really only Putnam Science Academy and St. Thomas More in CT consistently putting out D1 kids.I don't really care about the from Connecticut thing. It's muddled by the fact that we dominate the prep school space. I would like to see the staff hit on as many of the guys they want as possible. That includes Toure. I think being local to the recruit either gives us a significant advantage or a real disadvantage. Some guys want to get away from home.
South Kent puts out some players if I recall, but my point is more that New England/NY dominates. There are others like Monteverde, Oak Hill and Sunrise Christian and lots more, but we have more near us than any other top tier program. It's really only Putnam Science Academy and St. Thomas More in CT consistently putting out D1 kids.
I can’t answer that because I’m not from that area. Most of the people here don’t even consider lower Fairfield County part of CT. There’s a clear bias. But I’ll say this… Rash spent every waking hour for four years in Stamford. And he spent many sleeping hours here in CT too. He lives and works here too. That’s all good enough for me to consider him at CT guy.I hear you but in my opinion he wasn't from Connecticut since he was born and raised in New York. Tremont Waters played at South Kent for three years before playing his senior year at Notre Dame of West Haven. I mean they have as good a chance as anyone right?I'll let someone else make the joke. 😀

“Their message was they want me to come there and make an impact straight away,” Toure told ZAGSBLOG by text.

I'd wait to see the type penalties that could be levied before putting much stock in meaningful enforcement.Got it. Starting in 2026-2027 season this NIL stuff won't be an issue.
It's alarming (and yet: not surprising!) just how quickly all this money has flooded into college basketball from the wallets and bank accounts of boosters and hopeful alumni. Another catalyst: The expected "cap" limit from schools' revenue sharing and the arbitration on "true NIL" that's supposed to take hold once/if the House settlement goes into effect this summer. In advance of that, boosters are trying to front-load deals for players to get them to sign.

I guess Arkansas is watching their travel expense budget. For our guys it's just the IRS approved mileage reimbursement rate. 🤣I thought we weren’t prioritizing him?
Someone should tell HurleyI thought we weren’t prioritizing him?

Seriously - I don't get the umbrage on Zanetto - he is out there and is trying and FWIW if no one is hating, you are not doing anything!![]()

And Bryson Howard all the way up to #12. I'd imagine UConn is only taking 1 player from that group. I guess throw Samuels into that group also. But who knows?Toure down to 37 in 247's rankings (Landrew up to 21).
