This is the funniest of them all:
NFL won't delay league year; annual meeting off
The NFL will not be delaying the start of its league year because of the coronavirus.www.espn.com
Roger is on top of this!
Doubt it.I fully understand precautionary levels
I do perhaps at a greater level than you and thanks you are obviously one of the "experts"Doubt it.
Oh yeah? In real life crazy people don't shoot up a place? In real life there are no natural disasters? Anytime you put a huge number of people in one small area its a higher risk. And attacking people's ability to post with offensive language is not necessary. Post your opinion and leave it at that.
What would we have done if we didn’t get a chance to read this post. Thank you for gracing usSo I'll just stick this in this thread.
This sucks. March madness is probably my favorite sports event of the year.
Blah, blah blah, bigger picture... blah blah.. pandemic...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I completely get it but I am still bummed, especially for Vital.
We don't have the resources to keep up with testing the people who are infected. Now we should play games and then use those limited resources to just test all those people just so we have some sports to watch?I fully understand precautionary levels but did they do all this when the swine flu epidemic or the ebola epidemic hit?
No because concerns were hushed in the media under someones pressure
I'm not taking this outbreak as lightly as some of you "experts" are going to pontificate but go back and look at the statistics on those outbreaks.
I don't understand why they can't play all these sporting events in a smaller venue, test all athletes/staff and families invited.
If it's revenue they are after, put the damn things on pay for view, giving current ticket holders free viewing.
They know who is most susceptible to this disease
Ridiculous is that they get the crowd into MSG, play 1/2 a game then call it off!!! That means those attending only have a 1/2 chance of getting contaminated?
Too many have lost any sense of being reasonable, Precaution is one thing but mass hysteria will cause more harm in the end in so many different areas.

Not every outbreak is the same. The way this transmits while people don't have syptoms. Cant conflate them. Also, you want to test everyone involved to play a basketball game when there aren't close to enough tests available for the general public? Sick people are not being tested unless they have been to a few of the hot countries recently or their symptoms are bad with say breathing difficulties and pneumonia.I fully understand precautionary levels but did they do all this when the swine flu epidemic or the ebola epidemic hit?

Pray that this virus disappears as miraculously as it appeared and no more deaths occur - Objective #5
Terrible news joober, you have my condolences and I hope you and your family can find some comfort and peace.I lost my second brother today and now I'm losing the only thing that could've been even a momentary partial distraction. Obviously, this issue is bigger than me, my family, or basketball and they made the right move. Still sucks as far as timing.

Yup. So what you're saying is that you care more about the general public than the players/officiating crew/video staff/ anyone else that has to potentially risk going out to play this game. Correct me if I'm wrong, the incidence of a natural disaster, "crazy people" which a term people might find offensive, is higher to you than a global pandemic which has only just started here in the U.S.?
