The average age of the deceased to date is over 80....and, there have been 38 deaths in the USA so far due to Covid-19. The CDC estimates at least 8,000 U.S. deaths from the flu so far this season. They would not have cancelled the tourneys due to the number of deaths due to the flu, but cancelled it due to 38 deaths due to the Corona Virus? Please keep this in perspective......
If you don't seem to grasp that the seriousness of this has nothing to do with the flu deaths this year, then you should read more and post less.

You shouldn't panic. The sky isn't falling. We're still more likely to die from a number of other things, but we need to contain the spread so hospitals can keep up.

Try this for perspective. We are barely at the tip of the iceberg on this. It is growing exponentially thanks to its long incubation period. Things are not bad...YET

There are a lot of things in this world that can kill you. Every time you go to place with a ton of people around you are putting yourself at risk of a million different bad things that could happen. Yet we still go on with life and not lock ourselves in our homes. Not allowing the general public in the arena was more than sufficient to reducing to chance of contracting this virus.

Yeah, in normal life there arent pandemics. This is just an idiotic post.

But the 2nd half is still happening apparently.

Edit: it's an old game

Please find a better source of information. Your family may benefit from it.

Expecting more virus news in Stamford

Just my hunch, but the hot spot in New Rochelle is expanding. I believe the positive healthcare individual from the Norwalk/Danbury hospital system was related.

This is why all the shutdowns are happening. I have a son at Northeastern and am trying to figure out the best way to clear out his dorm and get him back to Tennessee.

Let’s put some positive spin on this. When is the last time we ended the season on a 5 game winning streak? The last time we won the whole thing. So basically this team is on that level.

Dan Hurley didn’t not win the National Championship in his second season just like Ollie. Nice.

Somehow that wasn't particularly comforting.

This site has all of the counting statistics you need and want to know about this:

Oh yeah? In real life crazy people don't shoot up a place? In real life there are no natural disasters? Anytime you put a huge number of people in one small area its a higher risk. And attacking people's ability to post with offensive language is not necessary. Post your opinion and leave it at that.

Beyond ridiculous. Bubble wrap society.

Litigious society. Some kid on some tourney team was interviewed and said, "They're not gonna make us play, are they?"

All you need is a one guy to come down with a bad case and boom, a line of lawyers.

Sad, but this is 21st century 'Murica.

All of your data is flawed, actually its wrong. Your position could be correct, but when using crap data its not likely.

Let me guess, you don’t work as a data scientist, correct?

Now do some reading about exponential growth.

Watch this:

And then read this:

I fully understand precautionary levels but did they do all this when the swine flu epidemic or the ebola epidemic hit?
No because concerns were hushed in the media under someones pressure
I'm not taking this outbreak as lightly as some of you "experts" are going to pontificate but go back and look at the statistics on those outbreaks.
I don't understand why they can't play all these sporting events in a smaller venue, test all athletes/staff and families invited.
If it's revenue they are after, put the damn things on pay for view, giving current ticket holders free viewing.
They know who is most susceptible to this disease
Ridiculous is that they get the crowd into MSG, play 1/2 a game then call it off!!! That means those attending only have a 1/2 chance of getting contaminated?
Too many have lost any sense of being reasonable, Precaution is one thing but mass hysteria will cause more harm in the end in so many different areas.

This was the right call....but considering how much is shutting down and it’s an election year...public morale is going to be at all time low...
There's the answer
