Thanks for that but...Credit to EricLA for this idea.
We are building a WBB pyramid because the UConn Mt. Rushmore doesn't do this school's deep history justice.
So what player belongs at the very top of the Pyramid as the glorious golden capstone?
We don't win in 95 without Jamelle. This is why we can never come up with a unanimous mount rushmore - can even decide who plays Washington, let alone the other three, and lets face it not of the players want to be Theo Roosevelt. Theo, really, he's the guy that photo bombed the sculpture!
(My Mount Rushmore would be DT, Moore, Stewart, and then take your pick from any of the crowd of good players, that don't make any list of top ten, maybe Jamelle or Kelly Faris.)
Absolutely, Uconn has so many great players, just like there have been a lot of US Presidents. Teddy was one of them, but does anyone put him on their list of top four greats? Jamelle is in that same category, a great player, a champion, but not on a top four list.We don't win in 95 without Jamelle.
If the question were “Most Underrated UConn Player Ever,” then Phee would be numero uni.Collier gets no love. 4th in scoring. 4th in rebounds. 8th in blocks.
On the other hand, Stewie didn't lose a FF game with Sue, Swin, Tamika, and Ashja.I mean IMHO Dee's 3 NC's are more impressive than Stewie's 4 because Dee led 2 teams with starters of Conlon, Taurasi, Strother, Turner and Moore with Battle the 1st off the bench. Not a single one of those guys had a significant career in the WNBA.
Stewart only played with kls one yearOn the other hand, Stewie didn't lose a FF game with Sue, Swin, Tamika, and Ashja.
I do think using titles as a measuring stick isn't ideal. It penalizes players based on something that's out of their control -- their teammates.
Paige not playing with anyone as good as Azzi or Strong until this season isn't her fault. It shouldn't affect how we judge her as a player.
And it's not Stewie's fault she played with Mo and Morgan for 4 years along with KLS for 3. She was going to be the same great player regardless.
My mistake. I wrote KLS instead of KMLStewart only played with kls one year
