To me you have greats they you have players that change the sport forever. For me that person was DT and she was on a level all her own until CC came along and did her thing. Stewie was good but her supporting cast was pretty amazing so I love her but not the top. It comes down to DT and then a distant second is Paige.

I keep coming back to this post trying to pick one, but I find it impossible.

I voted for maya moore. Maybe not the most accomplished. But I think the best player to ever play at UConn.

Here's how we do it. We have 11 grandkids (could be a 12th on the way). We love them all. But... in certain situations, at special times... we'll tell one of them that he/she is the favorite... at that moment, that day, as long as they keep up being specially adorable. It's always (sort of) secret... with only a couple who might overhear... Then everybody laughs and gets on with enjoying each other. : )

I’d say Rebecca, Jen and Kara are the base of the pyramid having laid the foundation of UConn basketball. Tina, Sue, and Paige are the next tier, who won NPOY and delivered championships. Maya and Diana are the next tier, for their multi NPOY and multi championships. And Stewie is the crowning jewel who made Uconn bad for basketball. This being based on the programs history. I think you can argue Paige is just as skilled as any player to play here.

Note feels weird to leave Jana off the uconn pyramid!

I mean IMHO Dee's 3 NC's are more impressive than Stewie's 4 because Dee led 2 teams with starters of Conlon, Taurasi, Strother, Turner and Moore with Battle the 1st off the bench. Not a single one of those guys had a significant career in the WNBA.
On the other hand, Stewie didn't lose a FF game with Sue, Swin, Tamika, and Ashja.

I do think using titles as a measuring stick isn't ideal. It penalizes players based on something that's out of their control -- their teammates.

Paige not playing with anyone as good as Azzi or Strong until this season isn't her fault. It shouldn't affect how we judge her as a player.

And it's not Stewie's fault she played with Mo and Morgan for 4 years along with KLS for 3. She was going to be the same great player regardless.

Stewart only played with kls one year

I am curious to know how many levels you plan to go. Assuming you add 1 extra player per level.

5 levels is 15 players, which could then be used to vote 5 players each team for 1st, 2nd & 3rd team All-UConn.

1st level = 1 player
2nd = 3 (+2)
3rd = 6 (+3)
4th = 10 (+4)
5th = 15 (+5)
6th = 21 (+6)
7th = 28 (+7)
8th = 36 (+8)
9th = 45 (+9)

While you are constructing the pyramid... Some questions need to be answered. 1. Does Breanna Steward win 4 championships without Morgan Tuck and Moriah Jefferson? 2. Did Diana and Maya make everyone them better? 3. Which player accomplished the most with the least? 4. If you are building a team, and you could only have one, whom would you want to build the team around, Breanna, DT, or Maya. 5. Does the top of the pyramid have to be only one player? When I answer these questions, I get: 1. No; 2. Yes; 3. DT; 4. DT; 5. No, but if it had to be one, it would be DT. Conclusion: Top = DT; 2nd row = Breanna and Maya.

Well, I don't know who should be on the pinnacle. That's a subject for debate. But I do know who I'd want to have her hands on the ball in the final seconds, down by 1. That would be DT. I guess that's pinnacle worthy.

Maya Moore was the most talented of all the players at UConn....she did everything: Points, rebounds, assists, steals...etc....and total wins.
