Western Illinois choked down the stretch and coughed up a lead, then got a dramatic 3 at the buzzer to force OT. Pulled away in the OT to secure a bid to the Dance.

Currently Gonzaga is hammering St. Mary's in the WCC Championship, 51-27 just before halftime. The Zags have a 6-3 combo forward w/ shooting range, Jill Barta, who has scored 20 points in 13 minutes today. 8-12 from the field and 2-4 behind the arc.

If you look under the "palindrome" thread you'll see a few of us were talking up the IUPUI-WIU game.

I had heard a lot of good things about Jill Barta, and now I'm getting to see her for the first time. She is every bit as good as advertised.

I saw that thread title but hadn't even looked at it til now. Entertaining.

From what I've gathered, Barta has been a little inconsistent, and for whatever reason the coach seems to limit her minutes. But she can light it up. Averaging around 16 points and 6 rebounds for the season. RS soph, will be hearing more from her for a couple more years.

John Stockton's daughter is the PG for GU.

That summit championship had so many twists and turns of emotions just in the last few minutes of regulation. You had to know that IUPUI was done for once the game went into overtime. The two best scorers for them fouled out in regulation. But those darn turnovers for IUPUI Head bang

Many fans have enjoyed the family connection w/ the Samuelson sisters and Stanford. GU has a 5th or 6th year Sr. Elle Tinkle who's older sister Joslyn played at Stanford, younger brother Tres is at Oregon St., and dad Wayne is the coach at OSU.

Wow, a 21 point halftime lead had been trimmed to 6, but GU has pushed it back to 11 now.

Up and down performance for the Zags in the 2nd half, but they've about iced it. Up 83-72 w/ 47.5 sec. left. Barta has 37 points, 12-19 FG 5-8 behind the arc 8-8 from the FT line. There have been some great performances in various conference tourneys.

37 points by Barta! She is a very special player who deserves more attention.

I heard Sunderland say that St. Mary's will be in the WNIT for the 8th consecutive year. I guess with BYU and Gonzaga hogging the automatic bid, it's hard to break through.

Gonzaga will probably be a #12 could give a #5 seed a very tough game.

No big surprise, Green Bay punched their ticket today too.

Very good news for the nervous bubble teams, as Green Bay would've had a good shot at an at-large if they'd lost.

The Missouri Valley Conference is probably the only potential bid-stealing conference left.

Barta had 26 when they played at Stanford this year. She certainly played like the real deal that day. Hit everything -- 2 pointers, 3 pointers and free throws.

DePaul vs. Marquette for the Big East championship is about to get underway on FS1.

Looking forward to this game. Marquette swept DePaul in the regular season—giving DePaul its only losses in conference–and will be playing at home. But this will be the first time Jessica January plays in a game vs. Marquette.

No defensive struggle here. :D They both played each other in the 90's and it looks the same again. Now 14-12 Marquette 5:30 left 1st quarter

Yeah no kidding. They could have a 20-second shot clock and it wouldn't make a difference here.

Marquette is up 18-14 at the first media timeout. They are so difficult to contain on the dribble-drive, and when they're also hitting their 3's, watch out.

Whoa. Funkadelic just sank a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to put Marquette up 25-24. What a start to this game.

I took some Geography classes in the old days. When did Milwaukee become an eastern city?

Right around the time Chicago and South Bend did.

This game is really really fun. Both team raining threes and I don't think either team has had more than a 3 pt lead.

I think Marquette led by as much as 6 at one point.
