Gotta ask even if it hurts- Does MSU lose this game if Vic is the coach?
No, Vic would have won that game with that roster.

Surely your name isn't really Frank????What. A. Game.
To be frank, it's poetic justice after some people heaped dismissiveness onto South Florida after they gave Baylor more than a good tussle.
I mean... Cooks got 35 minutes and contributed to 3 points and 5 turnovers. Mingo-Young also a no show. Here is where depth is critical. If Wiggins and Godfrey were available earlier, we could've given them a try instead of trying to stubbornly win it on 2 struggling players.
I was not discussing Gary Payton. If I was coaching as soon as she turned her back I would tell my team to double team her. With her back to the basket, surrounded by two players with their arms up, it would be hard for her to see. Why would you even compare what a great pro guard did to what a college player who is not even an AA? However, it works for her and her coach and that is all that matters. When I coached, I did not allow my guards to dribble that way.I guess that was Gary Payton's weakness too! Watch footage of the GREAT Gary Payton, and tell me he didn't see the whole court.
Completely agreed. There were numerous times when the momentum swung heavily toward MSU and USF could have easily folded. This is actually the usual pattern when USF has played highly ranked teams (other than UConn), and it was how the Baylor game played out: they're typically very much in the game but just can't quite hold it together down the stretch.Surely your name isn't really Frank????
Good game analysis. I watched the game and was really impressed by the back and forth lead changes and how Jose and his team never gave up.
Of course you dismiss the comparison to a player who played with his back to the basket, and was an assist monster. Point being, the kid is a point guard, and her stats (including turnovers) was stellar. She valued ball security, which is of utmost importance as a point guard. FYI, Gary Payton wasn't just a "pro" player. I'm sure Ralph Miller (the coach) and George Karl (the coach) told Gary he was wrong to dribble with his back to his defender.I was not discussing Gary Payton. Some even said it must've been "a mental thing" with Baylor, since of course there could be no plausible explanation in the physical realm for that game to have been competitive.
I guess that "mental" malaise has also afflicted the fortunes of MSU, karma being what it is.
This one goes out to all the USF haters, and they know who they are

Didn't Rickea have 9 turnovers? If so, you are looking at two players that had 14 of the 21 turnovers. You've got to have some accountability for that with those players. It doesn't matter how much you score if you keep hurting your team like that. Rickea had a turnover problem last year that Vic never nipped in the bud. He allowed her a longer leash than some of the other players like Martharu that were yanked from the game at the slightest mistake.
Miss Statewho is a worse shooting team... Miss State or South Carolina
