12-11 MSU with 3:31 left in first
 
USF missing a lot of wide open 3's. Miss St getting to FT line
 
19-11 MSU end of first

Carter & Jackson 7 pts ea.

 
USF has girls with size but they just hang at the 3 point line.

State's defense looking pretty good, just have to clean up the sloppy offense.

USF with a mini run, MSU leads 21-18 now. Things changed after Jackson came out the game.
 
USF leading 34-31 at half

Impressed with them. Even if they end up 1-2, they are in my top 25.

Mununga was the inside presence in the 2nd quarter and the fact MSU is TERRIBLE at free throws.

Here I was posting about this game in the other thread on games this week and thinking where is everyone...doh, if you don't know who the dope is at the party, you know who the dope is at the party... Head bang
 
Can't buy a basket right now. How have we lost it mentally just like that?
 
I am guessing that not too many games have 2 unrelated technicals in a half.
USF up 36-31 at the half.

A couple of observations here:
1. MSU is 12-20 at the FT line so that has to improve and only 9-26 inside so that also not good.
2. USF is only 3-15 from the 3 pt line so that should improve in the 2nd half as well.

Posters should not be mislead that MSU is not playing well and that USF is hot. Hardly either as both teams are pretty good. USF knows their limitations and is managing the game better than MSU. MSU is better athletically and needs to get the ball inside AND keep Mingo-Young OFF THE FREE THROW LINE. She's brutal at 0-4 and those aren't even close. I think she missed the rim twice...:eek:

As @Centerstream just noted, MSU was only 1-4 in those back to back FTs and turned the ball over on their outbounds from that series. so instead of 6 pts, they got 1.
 
52-47 after 3qtrs. Yup, that's USF winning over vaunted #6 MSU...:rolleyes:

Love how USF's point guard protects the ball with her backside. MSU has quick guards but they aren't creating havoc against the opposing team's point guard like they usually can. USF's point guard is excellent at starting the USF offense. One of the best point guards I've seen this season.
