Looking forward to a head to head in the round of 16. Very interested to see how Iowa performs against a defensive power. Stats are fun, but winning Basketball is first and foremost a team game.
 
....score a lot so UConn is going to have to be shooting well to keep up. Reminds me a lot of the problems Arkansas posed except Iowa is much better coached and Chark is a way better player than anyone on Arkansas. Uconn's bracket looks very challenging.
 
I think the Kentucky coach should at least try #13 on Clarke and have #15 on Iowa's #24. The mismatch is glaring.

I worded that poorly....those players have been called out but not as frequently as Clark has, besides maybe Collier as of late and Dungee yesterday. Literally every Iowa game there's a Clark thread that pops up with several fans making statements like, "Caitlin only cares about stats, Paige cares about winning! Clark doesn't play defense! She turns the ball over too much!"
 
Also the idea of pressing Iowa and making Clark work from end line to end line is a good idea

Also agree with BobbyJ.. Kentucky looks atrocious.... awful body language and low energy plus they just dont seem that talented....

Yeah. It's absolutely pure BS. Clark is not I repeat not a stats player like say Howard is. This kid is a playa who cares about her team and winning. The stats just come because she's just so darn good.
 
Kentucky is chipping away. Iowa’s got to keep the scoring up. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with less than a 20 point lead going into the fourth.
 
#1 on Clark is a better match up. Again, make her work from endline to endline on offense then make her work on defense.
 
Howard does little to make her team mates better. And when she isn't scoring she has no intention to play defense or set screens or move without the ball.

Love the way 44 compounded her incompetence by fouling their best player for an and 1. I actually like the idea of Howard on Clark. Maybe tap a bit into Howard's pride a bit.

Throughout the quarter (since I didn't see the first half) Patterson was nothing but a defensive liability while giving nothing on offense.

The supporting cast is better than I thought. Playing their best at the right time.

Hoping AG gets some time. Her minutes have been inconsistent this year, but I like the way her length/athleticism could match up with Clark.

To be fair you can say that about the entire team. I just think they stopped caring and going through the motions. Howard may be scoring some but she is literally not involved in any other aspect of the game right now.

LSU may have found someone who missed and airmailed as many 3 pointers as them....

I have said this exact same thing. Howard sometimes goes off but she has a way of making her teammates recede into spectator status. Something just not right about the chemistry. I personally think it there were at least 10 other players in the country more deserving of 1st team AA than her.
