We need a …”Girl, stop playing!” emoticon. 🤣
She’s the kind of long skilled wing we could really use…Wow major blow for Texas. I know they have wings coming in but Crump is a stud and will be one of the most coveted transfers this cycle.
Her finalists were Texas, Duke, and Ohio State. I could see her fitting in well at at either program. Duke graduates Ashlon Jackson and Ohio State loses Chance Gray, Crump would fit in well replacing either of those 2.
I wouldn't be shocked if programs like UCONN, UCLA or Vanderbilt make a push for her. She'll thrive a program that prioritizes perimeter shooting and spacing the floor on offense.
Crump and Carlton possibly felt that Ol Vic was recruiting over them by bringing in Crittendon and Bjorn for 2026.
So what turned Crump off on Texas after wanting Bjorn to join her there? No. Crump was a big reason why 2026 Bjorn signed with Texas in November; they played club ball together. Hope Bjorn still comes to Texas, but there's already been two 2026 signees in Olivyah Edwards and Trinity Jones who asked to be released from their signed LOI's.
Carlton had a lot of ups and downs at Texas her first two seasons; some felt she would transfer out after her freshman season one year ago. Her younger 2026 sister signed with Houston in November.
Oklahoma will need a Center with Beers departing. Perhaps Crooks would be a good fit there if she decides to enter the transfer portal.
I have no idea if this applies to Crump, but with the money growing ever larger in WBB, street agents and other illegal and/or unethical middlemen are contacting players directly and shopping them under the radar. I have no doubt calls are being made to players by street agents saying, “I have a school in a P4 conference that’s interested in you and I can get you XYZ if you sign with me.”So what turned Crump off on Texas after wanting Bjorn to join her there?
Carlton might now be among the top three targets for Uconn, along with Addy Brown and Lara Somfai IMO. They were among the finalists for both Carlton and Somfai when recruiting them.
She's from Kansas City.I've wondered this since it happened, but why did she choose Iowa State? Even though she played her last two seasons of high school in San Diego, CA, I see that she now considers Missouri as her home state. Other than proximity, I couldn't figure out why she chose ISU.
I am. Not just women's basketball. Out of proportion to what I perceive as their value. No one needs to agree with me.are you just as disgusted with the salaries that coaches make?
you are 100% correctAlmost all of the portal problems would be solved if (when?) there’s collective bargaining but that’s a hill the NCAA will die on because they’ll never admit these kids are employees. It’s such a shortsighted stance to take, which means it makes perfect sense to them 🤦♂️
they take most of their courses onlineI am. Not just women's basketball. Out of proportion to what I perceive as their value. No one needs to agree with me.
As to the post you were replying to regarding academics, one does wonder, on the other hand it was mentioned a couple of times on broadcasts during the tourney that a surprising number of players are graduating in 3 years. I find that interesting - to free them up to pursue a grad transfer? I have no idea, I'd love to know. I had a friend that graduated in 3 years many, many years ago. But his time wasn't taken up by athletics.
