What did she do? Have a tryout or something? I'm confused.Would Khamil Pierre's transfer to NC State be an example of what this rule is trying to stop?

I hope Syracuse doesn't bite.Oh, that didn't come out nearly as well as I thought.
It was pretty well known the twins were being bid as a package during high school. So, they were greeted by Tennessee, but that experiment didn't work. So, I think the Pauldo brain trust will go back to work and try to work another arrangement out.
I personally think they'll want to stay together and might be best to play at a school that's having a rebuild. They're from northern NJ, so Penn State or Rutgers come to mind. But I could see them in Orange at Syracuse.
At the time she was dismissed, the portal was closed to new entries meaning she should have sat out a year. When she enrolled at NC State she essentially became a walk-on and was offered a scholarship. What did she do? Have a tryout or something? I'm confused.
Very poor man, but I'd take her.Williams feels like the poor woman's Hailey Van Lith or Miles, but just as the portal giveth, graduation taketh, so I suppose he can't be certain of a top PG prospect every year...
ok, Got it!! Thanks!Oh, that didn't come out nearly as well as I thought.

Is the "I" in your sentence Dawn Staley or Mark Campbell? I can see the latter, but my point was simply that living and dying by the portal year after year is a battle of constant attrition. He *had*to do it in years 1 and 2 but at some point I'd like to see him develop his own recruits because I actually think he has the potential to be a solid developmental coach as well.Very poor man, but I'd take her.
Heads up, could be some NCAA action this spring

Might be tailing off a little as the covid year is pretty well used up so the 5th year players will not be around.Heavy emphasis on yet. While the names have been pouring in, we have a long way to go to get the usual 1100 or 1200 or so.
I really don't think that's it. It was Pandora's box and that thing ain't getting closed now that it's open. Just look at how much activity we've already had when players can't even officially enter the portal yet.Might be tailing off a little as the covid year is pretty well used up so the 5th year players will not be around.
This penalty is to schools, not players, and no student or player has any right to expect anything from a school she is not enrolled at. NCAA can and does enforce all sorts of rules on schools and coaches.Pretty sure this would not hold up if challenged in court, in fact the transfer portal itself would not hold up in court.
Court has consistently ruled that a student/athlete should be treated as any other employee...and that all tuition paying/student fee paying students are eligible for teams.
Coaches do not have a transfer portal to change schools, hence players should be treated similarly.
Not that I like it, it's just the way decisions are made.
So far no player has challenged the portal in court, players actually like it, it's fun.
Oh it is going to continue to be wild west - just mean the total players who have available eligibility is reduced by close to 25% now that we are mostly beyond 5 year eligibility. Still a few injury folks like here at Uconn, but that is not anywhere near the whole of the 4 classes in school in 2021.I really don't think that's it.
