Sun have now won 3 out of their last 4 games and are tied w/ Chicago, who they beat today. Dallas is now in last place, 1/2 game behind those 2 teams.

Hull was going nuts, had 18 at the half and the Fever had a slight lead at the half. She came back to earth, Boston and Howard aren't doing much, McBride having a big game and looking like the Lynx are gonna get back to their winning ways after a little hiccup.

I blame playing the Liberty three games in a row.

Wilson was an absolute monster that year too and dominated Stewart in the playoffs. No doubt to me that she was the best player then and still is now.

It's a revolving door in Indy right now. We signed Bibby as the 12th player with funds opened up from losing Bonner, and now Bibby is being replaced by Powers 😖

Was watching the Lynx game and see that Indy even signed on Odyssey "Have Suitcase, Will Travel" Sims.

On top of that, Austin had one of her better games in weeks (18 points), but barely corralled any rebounds. Wilson was just too much for both of them. Citron scored 13 but couldn't get more than 7 shots off. Credit LV's guards for making life hard.

After today i have Aja and AT as my Top 2 no specific order Phee has missed too much time to still be favorite for this award and even when she does return due to them already locking up a playoff spot i dont see her having to comeback and put on master class performances like before. The media gets the vote and we know shes the media darling and people are tired of seeing Aja win but i just dont see a player being a front runner or winning the award after missing double digit games for the season.

The w over the years has been blessed with a number of exceptional elite players deserving of the MVP

AT is one of those players and this season is demonstrating that she has earned the MVP

However she's playing in the Wilson era and there's absolutely no doubt that Wilson earned and deserved her previous MVPs and is once again as she always does having another MVP season.

This season they are 1A and !B

Collier, Wilson and Thomas are almost guaranteed to finish Top 3 in MVP voting this season, in some order.

If so, Collier & Thomas this year will become only:

• 19th & 20th players to finish Top 3 in MVP voting multiple times
• 17th & 18th players to finish Top 4 in MVP voting at least 3 times
• 16th & 17th players to finish Top 5 in MVP voting at least 4 times

The latter two data points (pts. scored, rebounds grabbed) go a long way to explaining the (most) double-doubles. Congrats, Tina.

In regards to this particular win over Chicago: as much as the Sun front office is touting its youngsters (Lacan, Morrow, Rivers), the team was led in this one by the old(er) guard: TC and Bria Hartley, with Marina Mabrey as the 28 (almost 29) year old. That trio each scored 20+.

I’m figuring Tina has another solid 3-4 seasons in the W. I’ve been lobbying for her to spend those seasons in Dallas with Paige as a free agent signee. Add in a few other solid additions and the Wings could go from bad to good very quickly.

She had a couple good seasons with the Liberty, but for the most part, minimal post-season success, and every team she's joined recently has foundered relative to expectations while she's been on it (Mystics, then Phoenix, then Seattle, then Atlanta, now Connecticut - the last one probably being about as good as expected).

By all accounts, she's a great person, a great teammate, and a legit veteran presence. What gives?

Tina did win 3 Olympic gold medals. I think those count as championships…..

In regards to the "what gives" from an earlier comment post, an initial gut might be that Tina scores and grabs, but does she play defense in the paint? Well, the answer to that is, well, yes. She's second all-time in blocks (more than 4,000), trailing only -- here's a weird data point -- Diana Taurasi, a guard.

And when she was younger, I recall she ran the floor pretty well, too. She's not as quick on the first few steps, but who is/are in the 30's? (See Ms. Howard of Indiana...).

So I don't quite know what gives....maybe an in-depth look at the coaches/GM's in charge of the teams many of us thought would take off?

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy seeing how TC, Bria and MM do with the young 'uns down the stretch.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect Tina has had an opportunity to "chase the ring" so to speak, but more as a complimentary piece, than a featured part of the offense. There was speculation a few years back about joining the Aces when they were top contenders, but that didn't go anywhere.

It could have been many things, but money might have been an issue too. The Aces were able to compliment their stars with good vets who were willing to play for less than market value while ring chasing near the end of their careers. Get maybe one good big backup, one midsize, and one guard, spend as much of your cap as you can on the top 8, near minimum on everyone else, and at least some of the backups at an obvious bargain because they wanted the ring. Tina might not have been willing to take less, I don't know.

Tina might still get that ring, but money, and her legacy with career stats, are also factors and to a certain extent there could be trade offs there.

After watching that Sky/Sun game, Coach Marsh was correct to crash out the way he did. I get it that refs are going to miss some calls but the way the Sun player was grabbing and holding Elizabeth Williams. Clearly a foul should have been called. Even the defender knew she was fouling and shocked that a whistle wasn't called. I am sure the refs are getting rating for game performance and hopefully they are calling any of the WNBA Final games. It is going to be bad enough with them calling playoff games.

Amazing - ageless and I wonder how Phoenix failed to incorporate her. A pre million dollar coach FUBAR and one that, along with the Sandy Brondello decision, haunts all Merc fans.

Well if the GOAT could play into her 40s I don't see any reason why Tina can't put four more years on the court. Perhaps this goes the calculus into where she lands.

increase if she plays over the next 4 years impacting her chase
