She's certainly deserving. If they weren't all in the same draft class, there have been plenty of seasons where what Citron and Iriafen have been doing would've easily won them a ROY.
After I declared A'ja the MVP frontrunner, AT wanted me to not forget her name. Absolutely incredible. A'ja, AT, and Phee are all neck and neck. I think it's going to come down to who plays the best basketball over these next few weeks.
You threw me off. I think you are comparing those 2 players, for a minute I thought you meant Collier was leading the league in all those categories.
A'ja's number have been climbing to the point where if she continues this trend for another week, her PPG will probably be right around Phee's. She was sitting around 20 PPG at the beginning of last week and now is only a point behind Phee. And it is basically the same story with win shares too. Combine that with the fact that Phee has been out for a few weeks and I think it is fair to question if Phee has a strong hold on the MVP race.
That's unfortunate along with the other accusations on social media about what happened yesterday. Like you said earlier, it wasn't intentional. It's wild how it's being viewed out by some.
Wilson certainly was dominant yesterday. But it also points to the fact that Dallas is extremely limited at the center spot this season. With Yueru out, Dallas tried to cover Wilson with some combination of Geiselsoder, Hines-Allen and Jones, none of whom were up to the task.

They were extremely savvy with their draft picks in grabbing Quinerly and James, but their roster decisions around the power forward/center positions (trading for Smith, totally failing to develop her, then trading her again, resigning McCowan to a crazy vet deal only to release her for nothing) have made no sense to me. At a certain point how many shooting guards (Paige + James, Quinerly, Jones, Carrington) do you need? Even Seigriest feels more in the mold of shooting guard than true forward.
As I commented elsewhere, right now the Wings sole goal is to figure out which 6 players to protect in the expansion draft. That will undoubtedly include Paige and Siegrist and either 3 or 4 other players on rookie contracts, with the possible exception of Arike if they re-sign her. At that point they will add 1 to 2 players in next years draft plus 4 or 5 veterans to hopefully build a competitive roster.
Siegrist is an interesting paradox. She has wing skills but also scrappy cleverness a 6 footer needs to operate in the paint. I’m not sure Dallas has really found a suitable role for her until recently. I suspect a similar fate would have befallen Lou Lopez Senechal but for that unfortunate surgery at the very start of her time in Dallas. Lou was a better perimeter shooter than Maddy and maybe not quite built for post play even though she’s taller.
I don't think the injury was intentional, but anyone who has played a lot of pickup knows you would occasionally encounter someone who kind of flailed about, hit the deck too easily, and generally threw their body around recklessly. Nothing illegal, just a dangerous player you had to constantly be aware of lest they injure you through unbridled awkwardness.
