2025 WNBA Regular Season

27-13 rebounding advantage for Washington. It's like LA isn't even trying today.

I don't know what the WNBA referees have been told regarding the "reckless close-out" upgrade foul for shooters beyond the arc, but whatever is/was conveyed by the league, it is time for a more comprehensive discussion to bring common sense into the review process. For starters, if the shooter starts her shot from behind the line and the defender stays inside the arc, common sense would say that should negate any upgrade. Furthermore, if the shooter starts behind the line and then swings her legs forward after release to land inside the line, then there shouldn't even be a common shooting foul called if contact is made below the knee.

Kelsey Mitchell/fever and Chelsea Grey/Aces both were gifted in today's games with this absurd call/review. Good grief....

Citron was pretty quiet for 2 1/2 quarters...then just went nuts. Iriafen/Austin combo has been nice.

Hamby is having a huge game. Plum got going after a slow start. Right now LA needs to get the ball to one of them on every possession, not have Vanloo bricking shots late in the 4th quarter.

Cunningham injury wasn't non contact like most of them, but a player driving and tripped and then bulldozed right into her knee.

Had been wondering the same recently. Good to know I'm not the only one who had the same thoughts.

From what I saw, it looked like Hartley was tripped by the other Fever defender. It didn't look like she had the ability to avoid Cunningham to help minimize some of the impact.

95-86 final. LA offense was actually decent, but defense and rebounding was atrocious. Hamby and Plum combined for 51 points on 22-32 shooting. Burrell was 3-4, but the rest of the team shot pretty poorly. They needed to keep feeding the hot hands more, but some poor shot selection at times.

Wow, Brink looked absolutely lost today. Just couldn't do anything...other than commit fouls.

I didn't realize it, but Citron has been a monster in 4th quarters this year. Did it again today.

The Mystics' bench ended with 13 rebounds to the Sparks' 15 for the team. Something is wrong with a team's effort when that happens.
Yep. Washington was shooting lights out all game so there weren't as many D boards available as usual, but LA finished w/ 11 defensive rebounds while Washington had 8 O boards. That is pretty pathetic.

The Sun gave up 70 points in the last 25 minutes. After the first half, I thought the game was safe, but playing (alleged) defense like that they'll lose every time.
Lately, the Sun have been making a habit of fading in the second half. Here are their quarter by quarter
cumulative point margins over the last five games:

1st Q: +18
2nd Q: +11
3rd Q: -27
4th Q: -29

Washington and LA are now tied at 16-18. Sparks just can't get over the hump trying to grab that #8 playoff spot. Seattle still clinging to it at this point.

Another 30 point game for A'ja. Someone who looks like Kierstan Bell is 5-6 behind the arc today. Siegrist having a big game for Dallas.

Big game against the million dollar coach and team tipping at 3:00 p.m..an important game as the Aces are surging.

I think Gray tied her career high w/ 14 assists. 34 for Wilson. Bell added one more to go 6-7 from 3.

Career high 23 for Siegrist lone bright spot for Dallas.

I think I heard them say 106 points and 18 made 3s were both season highs for Vegas. Hopefully Dallas can keep working their magic when they visit LA next.

They will!

That Dallas D is AMAZING!

2 worst scoring defenses for that upcoming game..... take over on total points

After today's game, I think A'ja is the MVP frontrunner. Unreal. 34 points on 69% shooting. 🤯 She has been on a tear lately!
Looking at game logs, last 5 games pts/rebs 29/12, 32/20, 17/16, 30/16, 34/8. Yeah, not bad.

I have no idea what the voters are gonna do. Obviously Collier needs to get back on the floor. I kinda feel like there's a "It's Napheesa's turn" kind of sentiment, but A'ja is making it interesting, In a weird way Collier's teammates aren't helping her out, by continuing to win games even while she's out.

Fever win in OT. Mitchell had 38, I think 10 in the extra session.
She was absolutely unstoppable in the 2nd half and OT (she scored the first 8 of the OT points).....only had 4 in the first half. As often noted, she was on a heater.

Now for peet peeve as a player and coach. I was shouting at the Washington coaching staff via the TV when they beat Indiana that Mitchel prefers to drive left. Now, stopping Mitchell isn't as easy as merely trying to force her left, but Odyssey Sims simply puts her head down and goes left. No one either figured this out or had a reason to suggest how to stop it. Weakside help...nah?

And what happens with Connecticut? Ditto Sims and Mitchell just pounded the left time and time again and the "help" defenders (I saw you Morrow...just olyaed it.

Yes, I know they're pro's but everyone can learn and, geesh, isn't an assistant coach doing scouts or a board during the game.

This follows her penchant all year, both in college and pro's: start slowly, almost deferring to others. Then the coaches say...how about it?
And bam! Her three-pt. stroke the last few games has been stellar.
