Great article (free) from Anthony De Leon for the LA Times on the rookies of the LA Sparks and what they're going through. A good read when you have some time to chill.

Well, the article's general consensus is that "the fit wasn't right," pretty much from the get go.
And that raises the question: couldn't that have been seen by the (new) front office and/or Steph White who spent the last few years with Bonner in Connecticut?

Did the front office neglect to see the interaction with Boston, Clark and Hull late last season? And, on top of that, they brought in Sophie Cunningham.

Going forward, not surprisingly, Bonner has expressed a preference for Atlanta and -- ta da -- Phoenix. Once again, does that work with Kaleah Copper and Satou Sabally? If you add Bonner to mix, how many balls will be in play? Yes, AT is out there to make sure Bonner gets the ball when and where she wants it, but things are going pretty well there without another scorer.

That said, if the Merc could get her off waivers and convince her to come off the bench for a legit run in the West....stay tuned.

When watching this, Mabrey looked like she "wrenched" her knee. Tried coming back but she was most certainly off the rest of the way. Rivers and/or Sheldon will get a chance to step up.

I feel like this is more than a team fit. The new fanbase is something else

Yikes! The Sun definitely will miss Mabrey's leadership and offense.

Thank you for not including a GIF of who I usually think of when I read that line. ;)
Yeah I love the meme but just can't get behind the "rapper." As a Canadian, I'm impressed you can prioritize taste and talent over blind patriotism!

LA stinks. They always seem to get blown out in the 4th quarter. They have too much talent to be this bad. So disappointing.

Come on, Griner isn't even trying. Production has been almost nil the last several weeks. Time to retire I think.

Close game and tough loss for Minnesota to a young and pretty darn good Washington Mystics squad!! Shakria Austin has been on fire last few games! Like she has flipped a switch. Good for her and Washington. Minnesota. Not our best night but it happens. Gald to have Jessica Shepard back out there.

If I told you a player from the Fever had a double double, who would you guess it was? Not Clark and not Boston. Hull w/ 15 pts/11 reb. Boston did score 31, 26 for Mitchell. Clark is in a nasty shooting slump, but Indiana gets the win on the road against the Storm.

Did Wheeler go nuts the last 5 minutes or so of the game? When I looked at the box score earlier I though she had barely scored, she finished w/ 20.

It's not that I don't enjoy some of his tracks, but I'm a Gen-Xer who grew up along with hip hop. I better know the difference ;)

And what happens? Two gritty upsets by Dallas and Washington respectively. Damn frustrating to have to use multi-view to keep track of the action.
Or, in my case, one on NBA channel and the other on the laptop!

After winning a run-and-gun with Dallas, the Mystics slog a win out over the Lynx. The Mystics got an off-shooting night from Sonia Citron -- which Bridget Carleton had something to do with -- and Brittany Sykes didn't even play. Shakira Austin notches 19 (5-6 from FT line) and Kiki Iriafen goes hits 11 on the double-double (pts., rebounds). Unlike last game without Collier, Minnesota didn't get any shooting from K-Mac or Courtney Williams this game. There will be nights ....

In Dallas, Li Yueru in the starting lineup and grabs 15 rebounds (or two more than Griner and Jones did), while also scoring 10.
Neither Paige Bueckers or Arike Ogunbowale shot that well from the field, but Arike's ability to get to the FT line and deliver (9-9) came in handy.

Atlanta looked flat for the entire game. I guess some credit goes to Dallas but I think every single player on the Dream was having an off night. It was just one of those games where even the easy shots aren't falling.

Boston has her first 30+ point game of her career and Cardoso had a 27 point game as well -- right before she heads to Brazil for the Americup. WTG Gamecocks!

I'm curious, what teams is everyone here rooting for, and what is your reason, if any?

I don't really have any loyalties to a specific team. I tend to follow my Gamecocks and root for those teams. Since there are a lot of Gamecocks in the league now, it's impossible to follow each team with a Gamecock on the roster, but I find myself drawn to watching Indiana (Boston) and Atlanta (Paopao/Gray) the most this season.

Wheeler played her butt off in the 4th. Did an excellent job guarding CC too and getting in her head. Love seeing how well she’s playing this year after catching a lot of heat for how she played in Indy last season. Seems like a gem of a person.

Clark with one of the worst games of her career but they got one of their best wins of the season despite her struggles. Boston’s on a tear and playing great basketball, back to back games with 18+ field goal attempts too which is great.

Indiana reportedly is going to lose Dewanna Bonner but honestly I think they’ll be better off signing a different free agent than keeping DB whose playing style and experience is drastically different than what Indy runs.

Definitely a combination of the two, however they struggled dealing with Yueru in the paint which was surprising to me.

Fav teams for me this year:

Indiana-I think they’re the most fun to watch, love Clark/AB/Mitchell. Games have a ton of energy and exciting displays of basketball. My favorite team this year.

Chicago-I love watching Angel Reese. Also Kamilla when she brings her best stuff.

Dallas-I’m rooting for Paige and I’m hoping her and Arike continue to develop chemistry to prove doubters wrong. Both are very fun to watch.

I need to watch more Valks action, the one game I saw I really enjoyed and I really enjoy seeing underdog players like Amihere, Bibby, and Martin make an impact.

I was a long time Tennessee/Pat Summitt fan so I was always rooting for Parker, and before that Holdsclaw and Catchings. Now that the Pat era is far in the past, I usually root for teams with players I like to watch rather than having unwavering loyalty to one franchise.

I don’t feel great about Indiana’s offseason. Lost cap space to pay Katie Lou to go away. Bonner. Howard doesn’t seem to fit. Colson. Cunningham not playing well. Bri Turner. I think I prefer last year’s roster.

Kamilla with the career-high 27 points last night! Not bad for the player that some on here claimed was less athletic than Teaira McCowan.

Oh, and lol at KP.

I am a Lynx fan because of Maya.
