good that it's not a season ender but that sucks for Maddy that she's getting another season thrown off track with injuries. Also worse for the Wings that it means more Nalyssa on the court...

No idea what part of the knee this is exactly, but ouch. Glad to know she'll be able to return this season.

Tibia is one of the lower leg bones, I think tibial plateau would be the top of that bone, where it interacts with the upper leg bone (femur).

I disagree with the slightly description. Was it as bad as other examples? No, but it didn't look like a light tug and it was definitely accidental.

It should be noted at the end of the game Reese and Charles were hugging. There didn't seem to be any hard feelings at the end of the game.

Nice write up in the Chicago Times on what happened during yesterday's game. Charles continues to be an amazing mentor both on and off the court.

Aces are finding life is difficult without Wilson. Just dropped a home game to Phoenix 76-70
First game of season for Copper, meaning first game of season for Mercury's new big 3 in Copper/AT/Sabally. Phoenix has held up really well without Copper and even AT for a number of games--the role players they've brought in seem to fit perfectly with their style. Copper was on minutes restriction yesterday (played just 18min), but excited to see how the three gel.

Sadly, this seems to be the case. Bummed about Burrell's knee issue. Was pulling for her to have a strong season.
Was Brink injured over a year ago now? I wonder what the expected return date is.

She is going to be a solid coach one day.
Ummm, no. If knowing that Indy should not play at a snail's pace counts as X's and O's brilliance, you and I could be solid coaches one day. In any event, CC lacks the interpersonal skills needed to be a decent coach.

Agree. Clark’s basketball IQ and eye for talent might help her be an effective GM. But like many elite players, she would not be a good coach.

A nice write up on Hillmon and her impact for the Dream. Touches on some points I made previously in response to some who don't think Morrow can make it in the W. Personally, if Morrow works on expanding her game over time, I think she'll be a great asset to a WNBA team.

How I'll be trying to follow tonight's games. Two tip off at 7, three tip off at 8. The multi-view option of League pass is definitely getting a work out tonight. :D

Honestly, same. I'll probably keep most of my focus on the Fever/Sun, Dream/Liberty, and Aces/Lynx. I expect the Dream/Liberty game to be one of the best of the season.

Ionescu with back to back 34 point games. I guess she's feeling it recently.

Is Griner past her prime, or just plain disinterested? Her output so far with Atlanta has not been stellar, especially the last few games.

JJ is back, Liberty get the win over the dream 86-81.

Elsewhere looks like the Fever cruised past the Sun 88-71.

The Aces are toast until they get Wilson back. Even w/ all of the Lynx' star players having sub par games, Minny beat LV 76-62. 2nd half w/ 46-23 in favor of the Lynx. Ouch.

Did Collier get hurt? She only played 19 minutes.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw the first half, but opted for Dallas-Golden State for the second half. Collier looked healthy in the first even if she wasn't shooting well.

I watched like the last 3 minutes of the game and the announcer said she left early in the second half with an unspecified injury.

So apparently things got heated in the Fever-Sun game. Multiple technicals, took quite a while to sort it out.

Mystics beat the Sky, Valks take probably their first bad loss of the season against the Wings.

The trolls will be coming out of the woodwork after this game. Marina Mabrey will be public enemy #1 after she shoved Clark to the ground and somehow didn't get ejected. Later in the game Sophie Cunningham exacted the revenge on Jacy Sheldon with like 40 seconds left in the game and they both got ejected along with Lindsay Allen. This was a really heated game with a lot of skirmishes. Technical fouls and flagrant fouls were being tossed out like candy in the second half.

I think Clark, Charles, Mabrey, Cunningham, Sheldon, and Allen all got an assortment of technical and flagrant fouls. Sheldon got two.

Yeah, I just looked at several video clips. Sounds like Clark and Sheldon were going at it physically and verbally all game. Mabrey jumped in and gave Clark a shove in the back at least twice. Cunningham got her money's worth on a hard foul against Sheldon, then just about got in a fight w/ 2 Sun players at the same time. Sheldon's tough, but I don't think she wants to be scrapping with Cunningham.

I tell ya, almost all the players from last year left the Sun...but they're still the Sun. I guess all the departed passed it on to Mabrey and she's keeping it going.

edit--no ejections though; I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to get ejected from a WNBA game, and if it is what you would have to do
