2025 WNBA Regular Season

Well, there’s no double standard on my part. I hate it if it men or women. It’s a big part of why I don’t watch the NBA anymore.
See I'm the opposite. I don't want to watch emotionless robots. Let the players express emotions and take jabs at one another in a playful way. I think the refs do a good job of monitoring it now and know when it goes too far

The Wings dominated the Sun the final three quarters. The Sun's defensive style appeared to be "optional". Not totally shocking, having lost Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones, Dijonnai Carrington. etc.

Koclanes is still "managing" Paige's minutes by playing her 35.

New York is elite--and they appear to be peerless at the moment.

The other two teams you named? Please. One lost by almost 30 to the Mercury (and should have lost to Dallas) and the other hasn't played a playoff team and still only managed to squeak by twice (Dallas and Connecticut).
Fun game in Minnesota, another entertaining contest demonstrating how hard it is to win on the road in the W.

An elite team on display at the Target Center running their W leading undefeated streak to 5.

Great game - Karlie's 4 point play at the end of the 1st underscored the depth and quality that characterizes an elite team

Always a pleasure to see the combination that characterizes a great team: elite coach, elite roster, elite culture ......

Seattle showed why they are also an elite squad.

:)

The definition of "elite" is lost on some.

Feels so different (read: GREAT) having multiple Gamecocks as MVP candidates this season! A'ja's always going to be in the mix, but seeing Lish and AB do their thing early is a massive W.

Fun game indeed. I am loving watching the Lynx play. They just have a great bond. Tough for Seattle, another team that I love to watch. They played well and are looking better each game. Gabby looked real comfortable out there. Like France Olympic comfortable. That is scary for the rest of the W.

Not that's it's mattered, but Fiebich has not shown the same kind of game so far this year as she did in the playoffs for the Liberty. Tonight it was Johannes' turn, 18 points on 6-11 behind the arc. Valks have been competitive so far but got squashed like a bug against the champs.

Sky w/ their best game so far, led Merc most of the way but couldn't hold on at the end. Atkins w/ what I'm assuming is her best game in a Sky uniform, 21 points. Sloot maybe still has a bit left in the tank, 15 points and 11 assists. Not to be outdone, A. Thomas had 15 assists for the Merc. It's kinda crazy that she wasn't really a big play maker earlier in her career, then just turned into an assist machine. Wasn't til the '22 season that she really flipped the switch in that department.

Looks like Dream led most of the way against the Sparks, late rally fell short. Gray led the way w/ 25. Hamby and Plum scored 28 and 27 but didn't get enough help from the rest of the team. I think Hamby and Stevens are drawing straws before the games to see which one will be in scoring mode. Would be nice if they both got going at the same time.

Mystics play the Fever at a larger arena in Baltimore on Wed. Caitlin will be out, but I think Liya is expected back for Washington.

It would be great if Hamby and Stevens were both in scoring mode during a game, however some credit should go to Atlanta as they play tough inside. The addition of Jones has been paying off so far. Not to mention, they're playing with a depleted roster with both Canada and Griner out.

Hillmon's showing she's got range from 3 (Seriously Coach Arico - why was this never leveraged?!?!?). Coffey is playing well too. Adding Shatori Walker to the roster was another good move. Now let's see how they do against teams like NY and the Lynx to see if they can be competitive with the top teams.

  • Why is Griner out and what's the issue?
  • Jones is, not surprisingly, playing tough.
  • Hillmon continues to grow. I've been keeping track of her since she was in high school (at one point there was mutual interest between she and ND...ugh) and the mid- to long-game wasn't anything I recall from any footage. I''ll bet that's been a gradual development, as it has been for a number of bigs (Gustafson, elder Westbeld, etc.)

Griner has a left knee injury.

This. She's likely being load managed to an extent. Her last game was Saturday against Dallas. Next game is Friday against Seattle, so maybe she'll play then.

The non-UConn Big East players have played well the last two nights. Hiedeman was her normal self and Siegrist looks like she’s found her place in thw W (playing with Paige).

Lucy Olsen just got a few minutes for the Liberty tonight, but she sank two corner threes, I think within 30 seconds of each other.

The Fever looked worse than I expected without Caitlin.
They looked about what I expected, and I expect more losses for the Fever as long as KM shoots 4-16 and Aliyah gets frozen out (thanks, DB).

I think people underestimated the Mystics (who they will play again next week) when they said that the Fever should be able to go 3-1 without Caitlin due to a "weak" part of their schedule.

Lucy did sink the 3's tonight, but for the Mystics not the Liberty...
