So why not stay at USC? With Juju out, she could run the team and show out.
She probably doesn't trust the coaches offensive scheme. Or she's having a hard time with all of the traveling. Or she's homesick.

I think in general Dawn expects the players to adapt to the team and the system. Usually a good thing, but some special talents just are not a good fit if they can't play Dawn's way. Rivers and Cooper at NC State and Tennessee were obviously very talented but unique players, who never were relevant at South Carolina but blossomed with their new teams.

Latson will be interesting, because she will need to blend her great one on one scoring talents into a team system as well, after being used to being a very high usage player that the offense revolved around. I suspect she will transition pretty well, but it will be a challenge for coach and player, because it probably won't be just changing teams and playing exactly the same way.

I have a feeling that Latson will frustrate at times. I hope it's a good fit overall, but seems like a pretty definite floor there either way.

I think her age will help with that; there's a big difference between a 21 or 22 year old knowing this and a 17 year old.

LSU allegedly have a a big already lined up in addition to Serah recruitment (w/ UNC/UCONN)
Well Dawn called her a generational "talent" so it was mostly her own doing.

I disagree that she ever flipped a switch and played consistently well this year.

She had good games but overall regressed. And you could see her being almost defiant in a few games about taking bad shots. She clearly felt like part of her purpose was making sportscenter.

Good luck to her. She could easily haunt us, but this is probably good result for everyone involved.
it seems that many who watch games have a difficult time distinguishing between a player who has enormous athletic and the ability to make spectacular plays occasionally and a generational talent

I think we can all drop the act of not acting like money doesn’t play a major role in a lot of these decisions. Duke was going to be a preseason top 5. Potentially had the chance of making a good final four run. That’s not what some of these players chase anymore. They are chasing money. What a time to be a college basketball fan.
You're right--because this transfer makes no sense to me from a basketball standpoint. Oluchi is talented enough to get a bag from someone.

Barker's numbers may have been better than Ice Brady's, but in a structured offense or defense I would take Brady over Barker any day of the week. Your assertion that Barker was better than players who did not play -- including Ayanna Patterson, Aaliyah Gayles, and Maya Nnaji -- is sophomoric, I usually look forward to your posts, and often as not learn from them. Are you having a bad day?
I don't think I said anything egregious? It's okay to have differing views, I'm just sharing my opinions.

Or, her team/agents/whomever is coordinating the process.
Yep. I feel like this is the deal now. Do not contact simply means my agent will do the contacting.

She’d do well in West Raleigh :)

Kara Dunn is down to USC, Cal and State. Visiting the west coast now - decision soon. Would be a great get for the Pack - sort of a Madison Hayes replacement maybe. She’s from Georgia so not sure the connection to the Cali schools - hoping she’s gonna be donning the red and white…

@triaddukefan no way you expected this

Wow, this is a massive loss for Duke. Numbers don't highlight the impact Okanawa made day in day out for the Blue Devils and she would've been a starter this year. She's an exceptionally good two way player and athlete. No idea where she's going, but if academics are a higher priority I could see Notre Dame or Vanderbilt in the mix. If she goes the Vandy route, a trio of her, Pierre, and Blakes with Washington coming back could put them in the top 10.

I forgot which coach it was but one assistant posted a screenshot of agents texting active D1 players inquiring about their situation and seeing if they can help them find a new one with bigger NIL/playing time etc

The system is really broke now tbh and its sad

If academics are a priority, she'd stay at Duke. If basketball is a priority, she'd stay at Duke. Neither Notre Dame nor Vandy offered a better combination of academics and basketball than Duke did. She won a conference championship and went to the Elite 8 for crying out loud! Meanwhile, Vandy still can't win double-digit conference games and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season!!!!!

Surprised that Todd from Boston College is still sitting there. ND better snatch her up. Maybe Vandy if she could see her way playing for a UCONN alum.:)

Talk about kicking a man while he’s down

Unfortunately, everyone gets a turn on the merry go round
