2025 Transfer Portal

Stanford's Tess Heal is in the portal.

Didn't Kate Paye just say (well, bragged) that her team isn't losing transfers and, because of that, would not be mining the transfer portal? This is the second potential transfer out now since she made that declaration.

Maybe she doesn't know her team as well as she thinks she does (and that might explain her team's performance this past season).

Per Talia Goodman, a few here from Butler (boo):

Butler’s Lily Carmody has entered the transfer portal. The 5-11 freshman averaged 6.6 ppg this season.
Butler’s Jordan Meulemans has entered the transfer portal. The 6-0 junior averaged 8.1 ppg this season.

Hidalgo, or Prosper?
I was just joking about Hildalgo to mess with ND fans. Had no idea what I was wading into at the time til I saw the Notre Dame program thread.

But if Hidalgo did leave (I DO NOT THINK THIS IT LIKELY NOR HAVE I HEARD ANY RUMORS), I would love to have her. Koval is the ND transfer we need. Assuming Raven is back, we don't need OM and she wouldn't want us.

SEC transfers don't count though because I think there is a law they have to transfer within conference, so they don't actually lose any players.

Not that I'm aware of. Can't tell if you are joking.

I know that in Fall sports like soccer, football, and volleyball, SEC players who enter the first portal window in December can transfer to schools in any conference, including to another SEC school and be immediately eligible for the following season. But, if SEC player enters the second (Spring) portal window, if they transfer to another SEC school, they are not immediately eligible and must sit out one season.

I think your last sentence only applies. To Fall sports, not wbb

This must be a late April Fools joke. Any athlete entering the portal could claim that he or she was not happy with the university’s scholastic program. Denying transfer to a school outside the conference would go up like a lead balloon in any courtroom.

We've seen conference stats on transfers. Here's the breakdown on schools, courtesy of Ms. Goodman:

Definitely joking. There couldn't possibly be an actual law about that. Maybe it's changed a bit w/ portal madness, but it seems like there was always a whole lot of intra conference transferring in the SEC whereas everybody else could end up just about anywhere.

This one makes me a little sad, because U$C could not have been more supportive of her (and I say this as probably the biggest hater of U$C on this board.) I'm really hopeful this was done with Gottlieb's blessing and the intent to get more playing time in a lower profile program
What do you mean by "Gottlieb's blessing"?

I'm not quite ready to prophesize on where our Double Domer might end up (I was still imagining her in a Seattle Storm uniform until last night), but I agree it's doubtful she'll end up at any of those schools, including UConn. Besides, I can see he Huskies doing just fine with KK Arnold getting the key to the Husky racecar.

I honestly don't know what will be the attraction for luring her: coaching? (she's had Ivey as her position coach), NIL (ND might not throw zounds at its players, but it's not hurting) or a ring. Or some combination thereof? Stay tuned.
KK is great off the bench, but when she stays on the court too long she makes too many mistakes and she is not a good scorer. We need a scoring point guard for next season to replace Paige.
