Apples and oranges, but it was fairly shocking when Jay Wright and then later Tony Bennett stepped away in men's hoops. Everything has changed so much the last few years, if a coach decides they just don't want to do it anymore, I can understand.
Plus, how long has she been coaching? At least 3 decades if not more by my guess. If she decides to step away at any point she's had a great career.

OMG… this was on no one’s bingo card

Wasn’t she considering UConn in high school?

Interesting. Some of us actually theorized this last summer.

I have to tell you. I didn’t think chemistry with Hidalgo was that great.

It's not if Shams is reporting.

I thought of this possibility, but didn't want to freak out any of the other ND fans. I love Miles. Some school is going to get a great PG. Would love to see her in an actual offensive system. Wherever she goes, I'm going to watch. I'm honestly expecting some more transfers out of ND.

“Yet”. For what it’s worth, Ta’Niya officially entered today. Also, Shams is as reliable as it gets when it comes to Hoops news.
Agreed. It's rare that he posts NCAAW/WNBA. Usually it's the big announcements when he does.

Seems kind of crazy that she'd retire less than 2 years after signing a 10 year $30 million contract, and after signing the #1 recruiting class. Plus she has future WNBA lottery picks Flau'jae and Williams on the roster next year. Who knows though.
Here's the weird thing about Kim. I don't really like her, but I respect her, and I can completely see her grinding out every win with every fiber of her being, until exactly the moment she knows she's done, and then she'll walk away without any regrets. If there's anyone I can see walking away from it right on top, it's her. She's too iconoclastic in every other respect to go out quietly and normally.

First I've heard about any of this, but apparently Washington St. is losing 5 to the portal. Austera Tuhina the best of the bunch. With very little else returning, now I'm wondering if Eleanora Villa will stick around. She's a nice player.

Didn't the Stanford coach say they weren't losing anyone??

Grad transfers often have different thinking other than pure hoops. It's also hard to find an ideal masters program at Stanford, as they don't have a zilion options like a State school, and the grad schools at Stanford are virtually impossible to get in.

Betts was a bad transfer out, while still an undergrad, but transfers leaving with degree not necessarily bad.

Agree, this was rumored but still a bit surprising since PG for next season is wide open unless they are saying Deal is the PG or have an inside track on signing a portal add for the slot.
Am also shocked. Guyton/Deal looked to me to be a very promising tandem. There sure appeared to be plenty of room for both!

Curious where she ends up, and sad.:(
