Definitely joking. There couldn't possibly be an actual law about that. Maybe it's changed a bit w/ portal madness, but it seems like there was always a whole lot of intra conference transferring in the SEC whereas everybody else could end up just about anywhere.
I know Pac 12 did that for a while, but seems like that rule went away well before the portal. Seemed really dumb to me. Was a way to all but guarantee you would lose some talent out of the conference.Actually, before the days of the portal, the SEC was one of the few conferences where an intra-conference transfer didn't have to lose a year of eligibility while they sat out the one required season. In the Big 12, you lost a season of eligibility if you were an intra-conference transfer.
How many scholarship players are left at ND for next season?

Leah Macy also suffered a knee injury earlier this year so who knows if she’ll be able to play the full season next year if at all.4 - Hildago, Prosper, Lacy and Bradsford. And Bradsford pulled out of the portal last year, so ya gotta wonder
Right after the intramural game she is scouting is overI think Ivey needs to give an interview or put out a press release or something. And just talk about what is going on at her program.
What I mean is, I hope the exit conversation went something like this:What do you mean by "Gottlieb's blessing"?
And in Gayles' case with her recovery, is she the same athlete she was? Maybe it's a situation where she needs to look at a different level of competition. Unfortunately a horrible situation impacted Gayles, which really sucks. What I mean is, I hope the exit conversation went something like this:
Gayles: "Coach, I'm ready for more playing time."
Gottlieb: "Love that for you! Be ready to compete for it next year because we'll have a stacked roster."
Gayles: "OK, maybe I want to explore opportunities where I know I will get a lot of playing time."
Gottlieb: "OK, I support you if you enter the portal and would be happy to call any coaches who want to talk."
The alternative is Gayles arbitrarily pulling the plug without a thoughtful conversation along those lines.
Agree. Having spent a lot of time in Crisis Management, you've got to get ahead of it and she's already knee deep in it.I think Ivey needs to give an interview or put out a press release or something. And just talk about what is going on at her program.

This will not make a difference this year (or ever), but Luci Jensen is a freshman and is pretty good. She could become a spot player down the road. ND actually had a player like that during the two national championships in Katie Cole, who was from Toledo and actually hit the rotation in 2018-19. She's now on her way to being a doctor if memory serves correctly. Jensen is 5'10" and has promise.
Last Tear Poa not shocking, but interesting. This one doesn’t shock me at all.
Day-Wilson has used up her eligibility as she entered college in 2021. Unlike her friend Lattimore who had an injury, she's never missed a season.Last Tear Poa not shocking, but interesting.
- she is the plaintiff in legal case designed to get international athletes a visa that will allow them to receive NIL and 'pay to play' while in US.
- she will be a 1 yr grad transfer.
- Mulkey was extremely loyal to her as an LSU national champ, but her playing time was shrinking.
- this gives more opportunity for Day-Wilson, Richard, Gilbert and incoming freshmen a chance to play more.
Very interesting to see her landing spot, not a bad thing for LSU.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this done on the women’s side, when a mass exodus happens to a program. Other than asking a coach why a certain player transferred out. But I hope it happens. We won’t get the truth but it will be fun to watchAgree. Having spent a lot of time in Crisis Management, you've got to get ahead of it and she's already knee deep in it.
Her athletic director should be joining her in a press conference ASAP.
Which player is this? The six-figure amounts being offered to these players are crazy. One SEC out-bid another SEC school by $300k for a player. The bidding for that player probably hasn't stopped!
Not all bad news. It looks like I have a real chance this year. SO…if you don’t hear from me…I’m in South Bend.
You may not have, but it's a lot more common than you may think. The transfer portal lists have several teams with more players than what ND has currently.I don’t think I’ve ever seen this done on the women’s side, when a mass exodus happens to a program. Ah, so you're the player version of coachjumper ("I can be there in 20 minutes").Not all bad news. It looks like I have a real chance this year. SO…if you don’t hear from me…I’m in South Bend.

Oh man......is it even safe to mention that name here?Ah, so you're the player version of coachjumper ("I can be there in 20 minutes").![]()
