Your guess is as good as mine. Most of us familiar with her here in Canada thought Ole Miss was where she and Day-Wilson were going. Then why didn't she transfer to Ole Miss one season ago when Hillsman was hired by Yolette?

And surprising. Thought she had potential for next season. This is also kind of a sad one. Just thought Iowa loved her and she'd get a lot of time next year

Apologies for the double post
Didn't the Stanford coach say they weren't losing anyone??
Mulkey is retiring soon. They must have a serious player arriving. I love her game. She compliments superstars well in the post.
No, it didn’t show any rumors of players interested in certain programs. I just put in LSU for Cotie since it’s been reported in various spotsAre there teams showing for Latson? On3 referring to some "powerhouses"
With Morrow's departure LSU's frontcourt is entirely without established players. There's not really a world where she doesn't get minutes next year. Probably testing the market...They must have a serious player arriving. I love her game. She compliments superstars well in the post.
Maybe an offer wasn't extended when she averaged just 5.6 ppg and 3.1 rpg at Miami a season ago? I'm sure she had a much bigger pool of schools to pick from this time after averaging 14.3/8.2.
For as much flack as she's getting for transferring so much, at face value I think all but this current one seems quite "fair" for lack of a better work:
-Originally committed to Syracuse, her coach resigned so she reopened recruitment and chose Texas
-Left Texas the same month Taylor Jones was picked up in the portal. Lattimore was going to be buried on the bench for at least 2 years behind Jones/Moore/Gaston if she stayed, so she left for Miami.
-Played 2 seasons at Miami, her coach retired after the 2024 season. Understandably she left rather than stick around and play for the replacement.
In each situation (besides Virginia) she likely left due to a coaching change or lack of playing time.
This is why Texas raised eyebrows to some of us up here. She wasn't coached to be an in-the-paint post player while she was at Crestwood. She typically played 3/4 and they had another player be the 5.Lattimore announced her transfer out of Texas on April 12, 2022. Taylor Jones took visits to Arizona, Oklahoma, and Texas before choosing Texas on April 23, 2022. Plus, they don't play the same position. Jones is a true Center. LL is not.
LL left Texas because she wanted to play on the wing instead of Power Forward, and Texas was kind of stacked at PF. Was told LL did not like contact and being physical and wanted to float around the perimeter instead of playing inside. Plus, I believe the assistant coach who had the connection to LL was April Phillips who left Texas to become the head coach at San Jose State.
But, yes, Texas wanted her to play PF and Moore and Gaston were ahead of her on the depth chart.
Moren had issues with players leaving when she was at Indiana State, before she took the IU job. I didn't understand IU hiring her to begin with considering her record at ISU was just 69-57 over 3 years.Teri Moren runs a tight ship and has lost a player or two here or there, but this is a whole-scale fire drill. Wow.
And to think they just played S. Carolina as tough as the next team.
Did the players think that without Chloe or Sydney, there was no chance for next year (which doesn't say a lot about their own self-confidence) or maybe there's something about Moren that was wearing thin and those two leaders kept the ship together?
At this point, it looks like IU will be joining Penn State and Rutgers (whose season just ended at Buffalo in the WNIT) as total rebuilds (if possible).
LSU board- someone who works in the AD said Mulkey was wanting to retire within the next two years after the end of last season. Allegedly has gotten tired of dealing with some of the stuff going on behind the scenes and that her assistant coaches are 'basically useless' outside of Starkey (on brink of retirement) and has been too lazy to start over and hire new staff. They must have a serious player arriving. I love her game. She compliments superstars well in the post.
Seems kind of crazy that she'd retire less than 2 years after signing a 10 year $30 million contract, and after signing the #1 recruiting class. Plus she has future WNBA lottery picks Flau'jae and Williams on the roster next year. Who knows though.LSU board- someone who works in the AD said Mulkey was wanting to retire within the next two years after the end of last season. Hard to see her retiring after signing potentially one of the best classes of her coaching career but who knows what is going on...
Apples and oranges, but it was fairly shocking when Jay Wright and then later Tony Bennett stepped away in men's hoops. Everything has changed so much the last few years, if a coach decides they just don't want to do it anymore, I can understand.Seems kind of crazy that she'd retire less than 2 years after signing a 10 year $30 million contract, and after signing the #1 recruiting class. Dealing with portal/NIL she has made it pretty clear she hates dealing with it, she puts up with it because thats what you have to now in college athletics with any sport.Seems kind of crazy that she'd retire less than 2 years after signing a 10 year $30 million contract, and after signing the #1 recruiting class. I don't think it is a surprise. She was in Kim's dog house for much of the season. This is a pretty big surprise to me anyway
Her and Poa both got suspended/dealt with internally and actually both were fortunate not to be dismissed after that physical altercation in the offseason...I don't think it is a surprise. She was in Kim's dog house for much of the season.
