2025 Transfer Portal - UConn Interest Only

Do shorter people USUALLY have more wingspan than taller people? Or are we talking about exceptions now to make a point. For the record, I've watched El-Amin, Kemba, Bazz and Boat, lead us to glory. I know we can win with shorter guards, they just have to be very very offensively talented. And having larger guards who can switch defensively is preferable for Danny’s defenses and most modern defenses in basketball, if we're comparing guys with similar offensive games.

To go with my original posts, after eliminating all the goal post moving and strawmen, I was simply pointing out the levels of ridiculous it's getting to be here with tall guards and the definition being at least 6-4.

The best guard in this tournament is someone we are familiar with. Walter Clayton is 6-2 listed. Even if that is without shoes, it wouldn't be big enough for you guys
Wingspan is random for people within an inch or two, more often than to be called an exception

We have a new entry for dumbest hills to die on as a local man has discovered basketball height measurements

You're not a good enough poster for me to notice, are you one of those only tall guards posters projecting dumb?

.-.
Soooooooooo.. who are we targeting now that Monroe is off the board?

Omg this is so annoying. Who cares about height? Can the guy play? Diarra is a smaller guard and had a great career with us. Newton is a big guard and was amazing for us. Who cares? If the kid can play they can play! Real height vs listed height doesn't matter. It's all about what happens on the floor. Adrien was an undersized 4 but that never stopped him being all over the glass. Can height be an asset in certain aspects of the game? Absolutely. However I'd rather a smaller guy who is a better player than a guy a few inches taller but a worse player. Can we just stop arguing over semantics?

So if he's 6-2 in bare feet, he simply can't start for us. That is your simple statement, correct?
Um no, but a nice logical fallacy. I never made a statement about what size is appropriate for starting or whether height should be the sole arbiter for who starts.

I was pointing out that adding 1-2 inches to the barefoot measurement will give you the actual height teams list and the standard that it seems everyone but you used to determine whether a is a "big guard" or not.

The topic I started was about real heights.

Of course that means bearfoot. You don't know why somebody's real height has to do with anything. I don't even know how to respond to that
Because if we’re talking about basketball then nobody else’s height is listed in bare feet either. So I don’t understand why you pointed out what Newton’s and Spencer’s heights in bare feet are. Again, it’s all relative. I’m done since you can’t understand that.

Again. A listed height could be a half inch off or 2 inches off. So it is not the same or relative. You were done on your first post

Yeah I have no idea of the level of interest here from either side, but I hope it's high. I'd imagine this is a guy who'd start at the 2/3 and move Mullins into a 6th man role. But I suspect he might have better offers for minutes than what we can feasibly offer
That guy is already on the roster JStew

Bob Cousy award just announced- best point guard in the country. He is barely 6 feet....and only a junior

.-.
Or Alex comes back and JStew starts at the 3, if his D improves. I hope Alex gives it another run.
Stewart's D did improve by the end of year and he was becoming our defensive stopper instead of Ross at the end of the year. His defensive metrics showed the improvement.
