He looks really athletic and strong for that league. I never saw Quinnipiac play all season but Quinnipiac's head coach is the brother in law of my good friend. My buddy said he could've left last season but he came back to try and get coach and his teammates into the tournament. He said he's a great kid and he would love to see him end up at UConn. He went to South Kent.

Stew has a nice looking shot when his feet are set. Movement shooting though would solely be on Ball unless a PG who can is brought in, or emerges.

He has played every game except 1, like superjohn said, and he hovers around 20-30+ minutes a game. What do you mean he "spends a lot of time on the trainers bench"?

Maybe it’s bad luck. He gets poked in the eye, hit in the head, small twists of ankles, and draws blood more than any player I’ve ever seen in my life.

But he always comes back, pretty tough kid.
 
Monroe can switch 1-5. Gets to the rim with ease. Draws fouls and hits 83% of FT. Incredible rebounder - 60th in the country in defensive rebounding rate.

As second fiddle last year, he was much more efficient. He would be a great addition.

The 3 is a bit of a push from out front, can it get blocked easier? Question. This guy is the same size as Abraham but 2 years older, who never saw the floor this season. If Abraham is bigger and stronger after a season of training and lifting then why isn’t he mentioned more?
If he is really talented do we lose him by recruiting over him?

They look like completely different types of players

Yes, it can get blocked easier. But TBH it's not really something I'm concerned with. We don't want him (or anyone, if we can help it) taking close, contested 3s anyways.

Abraham may be the same size and athleticism, but he has 1/4 the talent. If basketball was all about who's the biggest, we'd have a roster of 7-footers.

1/4 the talent? He is a 4 star who we haven’t even had a chance to see on the floor. What was this Quinnipiac player as a recruit?

Respectfully, Abraham wasn't good enough to see a meaningful minute of basketball this year at UConn. Monroe was. The star rating out of high school is meaningless once you step on campus.

Hard to make these projections from minnow conferences to places like UConn.

Mahaney was great at St. Mary's but hardly saw playing time at UConn.

If roles were reversed on Abraham were at Quinnipiac while Monroe was at UConn, you'd be hard-pressed to see Monroe get minutes. Maybe he would but the coaches make these determinations and we've seen talented freshman sit here.

Think of Solo Ball, 2nd team BE. You could easily make the same argument about him last year, that he's not as good as some freshman from the Colonial League that made 100+ 3s last year at a 38% clip.

No.

Look at the stats from our last benchwarmer who went to QU... Richie still couldn't average 5ppg or double-digit minutes. Look at the film. Look at whatever you want. Monroe is a better player than Abraham and it's not close.

I don't really even know if Monroe is the right fit for UConn. I'm not hyping the kid up for no reason. I'm coming from this from as neutral a place as you can get. I'm not really invested in either kid playing for our team if I'm going to be honest.
