2025 NBA Draft Thread

He repped his son Sharife, who lasted in the league for one year and shouldn't have left school early, and also at one point repped Isaac Okoro but I don't believe he's involved anymore at this point.
He's hurting the kid. He's not even a real agent, I just hope there's other people watching out for Ace Bailey and this guy doesn't fleece him out of his money.

Ainge is an evil genius, taking Bailey to try and take a chance at him, maybe dangle him a bit to work out a trade. Utah is probably low key planning on tanking for Dybantsa anyways.

Two observations, 1 how the hell did Rutgers suck so bad with 2 guys taken in the top 5

2. No Europeans taken with the first 10 picks

Guards going early
Awful supporting cast.

If he was 6'1 like Jalen Brunson he probably would have been drafted. But he measured under 5'11 with short arms so it was never gonna happen

Agreed. The comps to Brunson are obvious, but the nuance is that he’s nowhere near the finisher or playmaker that Brunson is, and he’s probably not as strong either. He’s a 3 point gunner with below avg athleticism.

At that size, absolutely. I don't see Sears ever having an impact in the NBA at his size. He's going to get roasted defensively in the NBA with his size and speed
Just like Brunson who gets roasted on D. It isn't like Brunson is known for his athletic ability or his defense. He is a scorer and and a PG. Things that Sears does too. Both are built similar with Brunson having 2 inches on him. Sears is crafty scorer off the dribble and can score inside just like Brunson. He definitely is just as strong if not stronger. He is built like a tank. It will be interesting to see how he does. I know his measurables aren't great beside having a decent vertical but isn't like Brunson blew anyone away with his measurables too. Milwaukee is probably a great place to see if he can get minutes since Dane is out for most of the season. Let's see how the season goes before already 100% dismissing the guy.

But that's my point. Brunson is bigger, faster, with a longer reach and better measurables and he still is roasted on defense. Sears has a huge uphill battle to even get on an NBA floor, and I don't see it happening. If they try selling Giannis on Mark Sears getting minutes this season he'll be on the phone with his agent requesting a trade 2 minutes later, it's not happening

Brunson was much better than Sears going into the draft. Brunson was the best player in college. He was drafted at 33 leaving a year early. There was some discussion of Brunson getting drafted in the 20s.

Sears and Brunson are the same. Liam and Hauser are the same. Emoni Bates and KD are the same.

Excellent evaluations.

Who said Emoni Bates and KD are the same? I surely never did that would of been a joke for anyone to post that. I didn't even know who Emoni Batees is until you mentioned him. I see he is with Cleveland but have never heard of him before. You must have a different poster. Also, I never said Sears will be as good as Brunson. I just said he has a similar game so I expect him to have a chance in the NBA. He also was a great shooter in the NBA combine better than Brunson and was consensus 1st team all American this last year in college basketball so not exactly not on anyone's draft radar coming out of college.

I think Sears is underrated. Not saying he will be as good as Brunson. I just said due to his game he has a chance in the NBA.

Dallas showed, though, that a team can tank but can't plan for the #1 pick. Danny better have a trade plan just is case if he wants AJ.

At his combine Brunson was 2.25 inches taller than Sears, 2 inches longer wingspan, 3.5 inch longer standing reach, weighed 15 lbs more than him. I'm a Mark Sears fan but Brunson is significantly bigger than him and was a significantly better prospect than him. Sears simply can't do the stuff in the lane Brunson does, nobody in the NBA can.

You're comparing a borderline NBA guy to a top 10 player in the NBA.

I never said he was going to be Brunson. People need to stop thinking I said that. I just said he has a game similar to Brunson. Never said he was at that level. I just said due to his game he can have a chance at a favorable NBA career and definitely better than some of the people drafted in the 2nd round at guard. Sears actually has a better Vertical than Brunson. I just said due to his game he was a miss by many teams drafting in the 2nd round. Mikwaukee has taken a flyer on him to be one of the solutions to Dane not being there. Let's see how this plays out.

I wasn’t even talking you specifically, just the general evaluations going on. Yours was an example, but those were just tongue in cheek “this guy looks like this guy” comparisons.

All I said is he does have a game similar to Brunson and body type. Yeah Brunson is a little bigger but still undersized. They are both crafty players with limited athletic ability. Brunson has a post up game while Sears is a lot better shooter so they differ too. There is a big gap from Brunson who is an MVP candidate to not being in the league. I just think this guy has the skills to make it in the NBA and someone should or taken a flyer on him in the swcond round but understand why they didn't. No way was I saying he is the next Brunson just similar type guard who could have an impact in the NBA.

Here’s what Vecenie said about Mullins. Sounds good to me!

7. Braylon Mullins | 6-5 wing | 20 years old | Connecticut

This is probably where I differ most from the consensus. Mullins was one of my favorite high school prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s a complete wing who profiles incredibly well toward the NBA. He’s an obscenely high-level shooter, having hit 42 percent of his 3s on the AAU circuit on high volume last year, per Synergy. If you leave him in transition, you’re dead. If you struggle to chase around screens, you’re in deep trouble. Mullins was also one of the best defensive guards I saw in the class, with an incredibly aggressive and disruptive mindset on that end of the court. As a driver, he picks his spots well and is an excellent finisher on the interior with real timing as a cutter. He makes quick decisions. Mullins is this year’s Kon Knueppel: a player who many have off their preseason draft boards because of his perceived weaknesses but one who will ultimately prove worthy of being a one-and-done.

I don’t hate the Kon comparison, but isn’t Kon like 6’6 or 6’7 and bulky? Kon also had to show a lot of on ball promise to be a top 10 draft pick.

Kon is listed at 6'7 and measured 6'5 barefoot at the combine and he's a lot bulkier than Mullins at 220 lbs. Mullins is a lot quicker and bouncier. I don't really see the comparison at all.

Fwiw Mullins has definitely gotten bigger since the last of the games in Indiana I watched. He's not 220, but 200lbs wouldn't surprise me
