2025 NBA Draft Thread

ESPN has a guy on staff that fits that bill. No idea how good he is front of a camera but they may want to give it a try. I couldn't listen to Stephen A. Smith, who probably didn't watch more than a hand full of college basketball games all year.

Givony was on the ESPN broadcast last night. Watching that was better than watching ABC. Givony, Bilas, and Bobby Marks were all fine. Kendrick Perkins really doesn't know much.

Some of the better NBA podcasts go live during the draft. I was tuning in to Game Theory with Sam Vecenie, and No Ceilings went live as well. They definitely know the prospects better and are able to give more in-depth analysis. At the same time, I like watching the kids walk across the stage and get interviewed with their family.

Let’s not poor Liam him - still netted a 14mm contract and who knows if his stock goes up with another year. It could have just as easily exposed his flaws further. Now it’s on him to get to the second contract. Go get it Liam.
Not financially "poor Liam"... "poor" for being drafted by one of the worst franchises in the NBA... Not sure why the Celtics did not draft him one position earlier.

I’d say Brad Stevens is fairly competent

I like Derik Queen, but the Pelicans trading an unprotected 2026 first rounder to move up and draft him has the chance to really blow up in their face considering who is expected to be at the top of the 2026 draft. Their 2 best players are Zion and Trey Murphy and neither can stay healthy, if they miss time they'll be right back at the bottom of the standings.
Such a crazy decision. The Pelicans pick is likely to be a lottery pick next year, and the 2026 draft is thought to be better than 2025.

.-.
Kalk to Hornets.

Are we sure that the Hornets have turned a corner under new leadership?

I told myself that whoever drafted Kalk would show they are incompetent.

McNeeley is going to sign for about 5.5 million guaranteed and people think he should’ve come back? Lol.
It depends on what his goals are. If it is to get paid $5 million then he made the right choice. If it is to become a better player and possibly a lottery pick and be a memorable Husky to boot, than he didn’t. One problem with one & done players is they really leave no legacy. 2-4 years you’ll be remembered as a great one. Probably 3 is the sweet spot for that.

I think it’s fine. He’ll make money. Maybe he will develop into a great one. More likely a pretty good player.

Indy is a good landing spot for Kam Jones, with Haliburton out for the year he's got a chance to earn minutes there.

Proctor could barely be called a PG. Kid averaged 2 assists a game. He was a shooting guard forced to play PG.
My bad if I thought I was replying about Liam would have had a season if we had a 6’5” steady PG (like Newton)

Cooley had a lottery pick and a high second rounder and he STILL got nowhere close to the tournament

Kalk had UConn’s number though.

Hornets just traded their center so they needed one back. Preferably one that’s a lob threat for Melo and can lock down the paint considering they have several bad perimeter defenders. Probably don’t want to look towards the 2nd round of the draft to fill a key need, but he was the best option available for them. Good pick

Pretty sure he’s a Creighton fan. BJC is the acronym for BluejayCafe, which is our message board from 15 years ago that blew up in a huge fight.

He’s probably hanging out here to see BE related draft talk, since our board is way slower and generally MIA in the summer.

Proctor dropping like a rock - can’t say I’m surprised. Not sure why he didn’t just take a fat NIL deal.

He went to a good spot with Cleveland, where he will play with more spacing.

2 way guys not being playoff eligible is crap, and so is the 2nd apron.

Now he can take the Brady chip on the shoulder and turn it into something. I don’t sense he was a kid hurting for money to begin with. Take the chip and turn it into a great NBA career.
None of these kids are hurting for money.

Yeah I just came on here to say he was on tonight. Maybe ESPN needs to use him more during the draft. He certainly knows more about the drafted players than anyone on the set.

May I ask who BJC42 is - is it a bot or a human? His ability to like messages instantly is nothing short of a message board miracle.
See what you miss when you're MIA during the offseason.

Word on the street is that he went there because they are going to guarantee him a roster spot. Most teams in that range will offer guys two-way contracts, but the Cavs need a cheap bench option. I’m guessing they won’t bring back Ty Jerome. Agents were working to get their players to the Cavs there.

Would be a fun theory, but I haven't been on message boards that long
