Rory made everything in sight yesterday. At one point he had one-putted 8 out of 9 holes and most of them were outside of 10 feet. He was very lucky he didn’t shoot 80.Everyone in the final 6 pairings were over par with Rahm and Scheffler the best at plus 1. Total score for those 12 players was 50 over par.
Players finishing with a total score under par went from 23 to 9. Pretty much every qualifier near the top of the leaderboard at the start of the day melted down.
I think it's time for Zalatoris to break through, but hard to bet against Rahm with his experience and grindability.
Probably too many players for Rory to jump over to contend. He did miss a bunch of long puts by an inch - his day could have been much different with 4 or 5 balls the did 1/2 more rotation.
Gonna be really interesting to see the Rahm Keeg pairing. Will Slow play frustrate Rahm into losing his cool?
Not a Keegan fan but him winning here would be really cool
He's better than you with his irons.Zalatoris putts like I do
He’s better than most the world with his irons. Stud, just can’t put. He's better than you with his irons.
He wasn’t necessarily an hour an a half ago when he had the yips on a few. He’s playing well though. He is a notoriously bad putter thoughZal is putting just fine
Getting out of there was amazing. Now it's become verrrrry interesting with Fitz on the beach.
His irons he doesn’t need to be a good putterZalatoris putts like I do
Now that was a golf shot…Now it's become verrrrry interesting with Fitz on the beach.
Matt Fitzpatrick won 2013 US Amateur at this course and is ranked #18 in the world. Don' see him listed but he's worth a look.
