And before that, Quinn did pretty well in most of the games he appeared in. Suspect Quinn will come in if runs start coming in for Stanford to help save the rest of the pen.
Good context, my bad

If nothing else, at least holding Stanford scoreless for 7 innings gives our pitchers more confidence going into tomorrow. I feel like we were a little scared from the late game barrage from yesterday and were intimidated today.

This is a great point. So much of baseball is mental.

Yes, if the game finishes around where it is now, momentum is definitely more even heading into tomorrow.

As the announcer said this Stanford team feasts on fastballs and our guys don't don't have electric fastballs. The offspeed stuff from Gallagher, Chudoba, and Sullivan makes them look very ordinary.

Walk to start. One batter at a time.

Was far better than that. Great work by some pitchers who have been forgotten as we’ve narrowed our rotation for post season. Sullivan is going to be incredibly important next year.
Strongly agree. All things considered, the bullpen was phenomenal.

Bottom 8th, UConn offense with a scoreless inning after a leadoff walk. 8-2 Stanford.

If we can hold them here we have all the momentum going into tmrw. We’ve seen pretty much all their pitchers. I like being the away team so we can jump on them early tmrw.

Top 9th, Sullivan allows a 2 out single, runner advances to 2B on a Simmons error. Braden Quinn coming in to face a lefty hitter.

I don't like being the away team but it appears that in this series that is an advantage.

The shadows on home plate make hitting very difficult. I will be amazed if we can scratch out any runs in the ninth.
