Really looking forward to this tournament. There is more parity this year than others. Oklahoma is still the favorite, but I don't think there's as much a prevailing overwhelming feeling that they're gonna easily take it like I thought they were gonna do last year. This year it feels like sometimes they aren't winning as impressively, 5 or under runs many times per game which is uncharacteristic of Oklahoma. They could very well still win it, but I can see a few other teams taking a decent stab at winning it all.

In other news, the mighty Bulldogs are very good, and looks like growth and ability to resemble a strong SEC team is on the horizon. A tough team who can hang with pretty much every SEC team, saying this while remembering that this is the strongest the SEC has ever gotten that I can remember. We post the 7th highest ranked schedule in the country, plus 11 wins against Top 25 teams (only Virginia Tech, Alabama, Florida, Florida St, and Arkansas have done that), but put in a ridiculously difficult regional. I personally thought it should've been Auburn going to Tallahassee given they were below us in the RPI with a way lesser schedule and only 5 Top 25 wins, and we should've gotten Clemson. I don't expect to make it out of this regional. South Florida is not a gimme either. They have a really dominant pitcher....... but looks like nobody else really behind her.

Let the games BEGIN!

Also looking forward to.

Texas A&M at 6-18 in conference got into the playoffs. Come on now, that is utterly ridiculous. I thought Arizona at 8-16 was really given a gift, but they certainly can lean into their past reputation a lot more than the Aggies can.

Yes, doubtless. Probably a gift based on history. The team is clearly in transition; although I'm sure she is heavily influenced by Candrea, Lowe does have her own style. Read a couple of the articles, we didn't use our season tix, primarily because of the wife's health.

That said, we have interrupted our binge watching of "Survivor" (24 seasons done, so far) to watch the Softball tourney.

Arizona won handily today. So did A&M actually. Happy to see Oregon St. with a rare appearance in a Regional, they won today as well. Washington looked shaky til the bottom of the 5th inning but finally quit screwing around and pounded Lehigh.

Just like most Championship tournaments, you can expect the unexpected. The next few weekends are going to be interesting. I am looking forward to seeing who might be this season's JMU and Odicci Alexander...

FSU is 19-2 versus 12 teams that are in the tournament...

A National #2 seed...their game against USF will be interesting...USF has a dominating pitcher in Georgina Corrick..she has broken 7 AAC records. Most single season wins( 31) , career no hitters (8), single season strike outs (357)..single season perfect games (2)...

USF is not stellar when she is not pitching. .but she is formidable...

.-.
Watched parts of a few games yesterday. Some of the non P5 teams were cannon fodder, but several of them put up a good fight, and several of them won their first game. San Diego St. over LSU caught my eye.

Bama just about to get shut out at home by Stanford. Down to their last out, trailing 6-0. This would be the biggest shocker of the Regionals so far.

FSU mercy ruled USF...8-0.

USF rested their ace. who played yesterday.

Cal St.-Fullerton gave Arizona St. all they wanted last night. ASU won on a late game grand slam (hell of an at bat, worked the count full then fouled off about 4 pitches), but they're just crushing San Diego St. today. Up 7-0 already in the 1st inning.

Got a shootout. Arizona St. put up 8 in the bottom of the 1st, but San Diego St. came roaring back w/ 6 in the top of the 2nd.

.-.
Arizona beat Missouri. Oregon and Arkansas are scoreless in the 6th. Unseeded Pac 12 teams are giving seeded SEC teams all kinds of trouble today.

Arkansas broke thru w/ 3 runs in the 6th.

Arizona St.-San Diego St. is 10-8...in the 3rd inning. Pitchers are getting rocked.

AA Gabbie Plain of Washington gives up 2-0 lead in 6th with some over fine pitching, bad luck seeing eye hit and less than stellar defense against TX. Now down 3-2.

My stinkin' Huskies just gave 3 runs away on a bunch of walks and a bunch of errors. Trailing Texas 3-2 mid 6th.

Kentucky was trailing Virginia Tech 4-0, but has rallied to take a 5-4 lead.

Kentucky is a weird team. Their bats are so good but their pitching and defense is a legit disaster sometimes. Definitely not a team I would want in my regional the way they can score.

Washington has had 12 hitters in a row retired. They are down to 1 inning left to try to pull this out. I don't feel good about their chances. They were so frustrating this year, underachieved to a fairly large degree I thought. Hitting, pitching and fielding all should've been better than what it was.

I think Northwestern was mad today. They beat McNeese 17-3.

Arkansas ended up getting 6 runs in the 6th and won 6-2.

Oklahoma barely beat A&M, 3-2.

Several of these teams I picked on for not deserving to get an invitation are making the most of being in the post season.

UW making it even harder on themselves. 2 on no outs for Texas T7. Got a strikeout but batter reached base on a wild pitch. Nothing more irritating than getting a strike out, but not getting the out and allowing a base runner.

And Clemson barely edged Auburn 1-0. Seedings aren't really meaning that much so far.

Stick a fork in the Huskies. Texas has added 4 more runs in the 7th. Wheels fell off the bus in a hurry for UW.

edit--make that 5 more; holy hell, they're gonna get run ruled at this rate

.-.
Washington has nothing behind Plain pitching wise. Gonna be rough for them when she is gone.

Lynch looks awesome at times, terrible at others. Moore is fairly decent, but she's gone as well. Tarr has pretty much given up on Nelson and Willis. They really better plan on getting 2 quality starters from the transfer portal, or they'll be in trouble. Despite some potent hitters, their offense is too inconsistent to be able to count on just outscoring everybody.

Oregon St. eliminated Ohio St., survived til Sunday. Good showing for them. Would have to beat Tennessee twice in Knoxville, but I think they have to feel good about winning a couple games.

Washington may pick up Taylor Pleasants from LSU. She has been in contact with Klingler eyeing the portal

LSU is a mess right now but they have a complacent staff that has been here over a decade. It’s been a slow decline the last 4 years

Why did they put the Bulls and the Bulldogs on ESPN2? They originally had us on ESPN+ and made me pay for that. I just bought a new electric vehicle, and would really like to save my money.

Looks like Georgina Corrick is done. She's hurt. We caught a huge break. Gotta win this.
