I wish college baseball would go back to wood bats only. At least make these guys actually earn their hits/homers

Step 1 to getting back into the game after that nightmare inning: throw strikes.

Top 2nd, Casparius strands a runner at 3rd after a 1 out walk. He is still having some control issues. Casparius at 51 pitches. It doesn't look like he will be around for a long run in this one, it will be interesting to see who comes in after him.

.-.
UConn strands runners on the corners with 2 out. 5-1 Notre Dame going to the top of the 3rd. Just got to continue chipping away.

Top 3rd, Notre Dame lead off homer makes it 6-1. Have to wonder how much longer Casparius will last in this one.

If you were to tell me that Ben was going to get smacked around like this through three innings, I would’ve said you were out of your mind.

Its usually us playing long ball, the ball just doesn't seem to have the same ping off of our bats.

Playing a No. 1 seed at their ballpark is never an easy thing, there usually is a decent reason for the seeding.

True, but we're better than this though. That first inning was killer.

So you're going to stick with this is someone else's fault even after people point out it's not? Hint -- papers have early editions and late editions, especially for Sunday when all the sections have to be assembled. The further out from Hartford you are, and more true for home delivery, the earlier the cut off for late breaking news or sports that can be included.

All of these games were night games. UConn's game IIRC went past ten. Fairfield's went past 11. If you expected stories in the early edition of a Sunday paper, that's on you, not the paper. You should know to check online for stories past the deadline.
Sorry. I have better things to do than going back to check it a third time.
Tha fact is that the Courant has the worst local coverage of any town I have ever lived in. They love the NY and Boston teams but basically ignore local sports except UCONN BB and WCBB. Did they even know there was hockey in town this year?
With the reputation of new Courant ownership, I dont see it getting better.

Bottom 3rd, UConn with 2 hits after 2 out. Christian Fedko follows with a ground rule double driving in a run to make it 8-2, which is the score going to the 4th.

Alright there we go, just need to stop there bats so we can’t keep chipping away

Bad bounce cost a run…
