OT: 2021 NBA Playoffs

Giannis wasn't the problem, though the argument that he wasn't the solution is valid. But he had 18 and 11 on >50% shooting with more assists than turnovers.

Middleton is 13/43 through two games. 30% on 20+ shots a game. Horrendous. 43 shots, 2 FTs attempted. 7 turnovers.

Middleton has played like garbage, but Budenholzer is just that bad a playoff coach.

I understand folks ragging on Porzingis but playing in that kind of offense when one guy dominates the ball for a possession is tough. CP3 and Russ reportedly expressed similar complaints behind the scenes about Harden while with the Rockets and that offense.

We have all played with that guy, albeit on much lower levels. They look for their own shot first, and then look for the pass second. So every shot of theirs is contested and every pass is a second or two late. At the NBA level, all the shooters are good, so winners and losers often come down to which team gets the most good shots. Somewhere in this thread are some tweets about the crazy shooting Dallas' bench had to do in order to win the first two games. Maybe there is a reason for that.

CP is the opposite. He scores when it is time to score, but he is a master of keeping everyone involved and getting their own points.

Man, the takes here are stupid. Doncic would've had 20 assists in each of his last couple games if his teammates could make any shots. Mavs outscored the Clippers in the series with Doncic on the court and got curb stomped in the 50 or so minutes he was off the court. Blame Carlisle and management, blaming Doncic is ridiculous.

Who is blaming Doncic for the Mavs getting beat? Why is it so difficult for you to express yourself in a non *****made manner?

Waylon, he's crapped all over him this thread.

Doncic also got into it with Carlisle during a timeout.

By comparison, Trae Young acts like a jerk on the court, but his teammates all seem to like playing with him.
Oh wow oh no a superstar got into it with his coach

And cam Thomas is coming to the NBA next year…

You are the one taking a discussion about Luka Doncic personally.

Picture averaging 36 on basically 50/40/notgoingto mentionft% with 10+ assists per game & someone criticizing you sharing the ball

Embiid is too important a player for his team to do something that stupid, Galinari did not deserve a T. He was just getting up as Embiid was stepping over him.

Teams have been writing off Galinari for 3 years. He is just a baller.

This is a fun series to watch. I like the way both teams play. Both teams are kind of flawed, and both have great story lines.

Philly - May have the best player in the NBA in Embiid, but with his fragile body, he has a small window to win a title. Harris is one of the best "good, not great" players in the NBA. Seth Curry, younger brother of a superstar who has been a role player his whole career, is having a monster playoffs. And Ben Simmons, a very flawed superstar wannabe that has a chance to quarterback a team to a title. And the bench has some talent, especially over the hill former stars Dwight Howard and George Hill.

Atlanta - cocky rising star in Trae Young who is trying to be the next villain in the NBA. Great complementary pieces assembled in the offseason, including Bogdanovic and Galinari. Some solid homegrown players like Collins, Huerter and Hunter. There is a "not ready for prime time" vibe with this team, but they are dangerous.

Philly is going to win if Embiid stays healthy, but this series is likely going at least 6 games.

As great as Jokic is it's really hard to see a way the Nuggets can win this series. Suns just have way more weapons and are way more athletic. Nuggets basically need Michael Porter Jr. to play like an all-NBA player to have any chance and he ain't doing it. Campazzo is garbage as is Rivers.

Why isn’t Barton playing more? Especially at the 2?

Don't know, I guess because it's his first game back but he hit shots in the first quarter. It's hard to believe Campazzo is the starting point guard on a playoff team, he doesn't even look like an NBA player and Austin Rivers is Austin Rivers. I knew the Murray injury would catch up with them, they just have nothing in the backourt.

Chris Paul is having an amazing season. A 36 year old point guard has turned a below average team into a title contender, already defeating the defending champs, and up 2-0 on the MVP.

He just came back from a month and a half long absence with a hamstring injury, he's on a minutes restriction

Ah ok. I thought he had been back by now. That makes perfect sense.

But damn that starting backcourt is awful for a second round team

I'm still shocked Portland lost to them, I thought Dame, CJM, and Powell would be enough firepower on the perimeter to get by the Nuggets with their backcourt situation but Portland's inability to play D really showed itself.

Well neither of those guards are good defenders.

But Powell ans Covington are supposed to be.

Kanter was awful. The blazers defensive rating was in the 140s with him on the floor (I believe the worst defensive team In the NBA had a rating of 116 for the season )

The Blazers were a little better than the Nuggets but they didn't play well in crunch time.

This whole postseason is coming down to injuries. Chris Paul gets hurt, and the Suns lose to the Lakers. Paul feels better, AD and Lebron get hurt, and Lakers lose . Celtics were not beating the Nets anyways, but losing Brown and Walker turned that series into a laugher. Nuggets would be the favorite in the west if Murray was healthy. I don't see the Jazz beating the Clippers without Conley.

All the players are beat up right now. Fatigue leads to injuries, and fatigue is cumulative over a season. All it would take is one awkward landing by a star to completely shake up the playoffs.

There are two teams, the Clippers and Bucks, that are still playing and essentially healthy, and if they don't meet in the finals, both coaches should be fired.

I wonder if Giannis realizes there is a reason no one contests his 3 pointers.
