Gill has a nice practice tape. Fluid with a burst, knows how to push off his defender,
and able to get a step on people. Had good change of direction and extra gear.

We have just eight WR on scholarship going into next fall with two of these true freshman. I think the staff would prefer to have at least 10. I would put Gill on the short list of kids that might be scholarship worthy should the proposed no more than 50 over two years / 30 in one year cap goes into place. Right now we can’t give him a scholarship until he completes his second WO season without impacting our cap. In my opinion this rule should be one year.

What year is he? It looks like he graduated high school in 2016.
I thought he played one year at ASA, but maybe it was two. Bummer if it was two because he on the bench last year. Before I posted the compliments I was thinking (probably incorrectly he has two seasons remaining).

Yeah I believe he has just one season left to play. Played two seasons at ASA College.

Definitely a bummer on the scholarship part but would be a good add on to see this season

It looks like Gill might have red shirted his freshman year at ASA. I hope so. Can anyone confirm? If so, he would have two years left.

I'm extremely excited to see how Steven Krajewski comes along this spring and it's great to hear that he's getting a bunch of reps. For me, he's hands down our best QB and I'm hoping he matures into a real good one...

I see that his name pops up under the university of Tennessee Martin so in believe he was there before ASA and that I’d where he redshirted where he then did two years at ASA

I like Jonathan but he has had injuries since he is here and hasn't garnered the playing time due to that. If he has been passed by other guys that bodes well for the D line. I could see him as a pulling guard but really liked him on the DL. Not sure he can fill out to be an OT.

Yeah, plus the DL unit is the most crowded unit we have - which might look like this even after moving Pace to OL:

DTTravis JonesDalmonte Gourdine (RS)Colin McCarthyJesse Polansky (fr-wo)
DT*Caleb Thomas (RS)Lwal UguakJustin MooreQuay Evans

Isn't Uguak with the 1s now? IIRC I hear they use him inside and out...

IDK - who would you drop back? Travis Jones is the only player with a lock hold on the 1s.
I feel like we have five 1s in this group; Jones, Jones, Thomas, Harris and Uguak. Watts and perhaps Goudine are right behind...expect McCarthy and Evans to get involved in 2021. I was thinking Thomas might get eclipsed this season by the younger guys, but after seeing his thick senior frame, I'm not so sure. Its a long season, I think all eight on my two deep get plenty of snaps and some of freshman will get their four games too.

I don't see anybody dropping back.. yet... BTW, luckily Thomas was a redshirt and has 2 years left with us.. I see BIG things from he and Jones in the trenches for us during these last 2 seasons... Uguak too.. I think this young man plays with some 'want to'..

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised to see us run some sort of weird variations of a 4 man front, which includes Dillon Harris playing on the edge in more of a OLB/edge rushing role...

Definitely will be a lot of variations...some based on down and distance, some based on the strengths and weakness of the opposing team. A five man front with two LBs might be somewhat common for certain games. Dillion Harris should be able to cover wide in the 5 man set ups.

Is the Tenn-Martin name you are seeing a football or basketball player? I see the latter popping up.

Looking more closely at the ASA rosters - Gill is listed on both the 16-17 and 17-18 lists:

However, on the ASA roster for 2016-2017 Gill is described as a Redshirt Freshman - which if correct would mean fall 2020 will be his last season.

I'll be interested to see what Jaylon Jones - PWO from Houston has to say.

I thought Colin McCarthy was a defensive End?
