Vines committed to Iowa tonight. He was on campus multiple times over the past few years but was destined to head out of state.

Ummmm... you do realize that the school can’t comment on a recruit until they actually sign a national letter of intent - right?

That was the actual commits, not the staff. All the staff can do is interact with the social media posts a prospective recruit may make to announce a commitment until they sign a LOI. So until the commit announces, the general public is in the dark.

Its obvious Randy has switched to being aggressive with commitment announcements and maybe that is okay. He wants to keep moment up - which is good. Also, I suspect (or hope), that Randy tells kid he's going to post the bat signal and someone in graphics helps to forward pictures for the kid to use when they make their own announcement when they have that commitment discussion. For some of these, Randy might be doing a test, to see if a kid is indeed really committed with follow through. For others, it maybe understood that the kid has committed, but has other reasons to wait on that announcement. Last year Matt Drayton apparently committed in the fall, but never announced until signing day.
