2020 off-season transfers

Don't suspect much will change because most states have stay at home orders, but the NCAA ban on in-person recruiting by coaches and suspension of (official and unofficial) campus visits gets lifted day after tomorrow.

Hmm.
- The coaching regimes at North Carolina and Georgia Tech that recruited her in High School are now no longer there.
- Va. Tech could use a player or two (bye-bye Baptiste and Mabrey).
- Could there be other, newer suitors? If she wants to be close(r) to home, there's Villanova or Rutgers. And Maryland, as duly noted, needs players, but I can't see her getting PT over Diamond Miller.

On the bright side, save these transfers and Karen Aston anecdotes for your AD to review now and next spring when he as to assess what to do with JPM. Dare I state the obvious? Duke ain't what it used to be and continues a slow and painful slide down the relevancy pole. Maybe the ESPN position ranking pole took into consideration a form a "development" of players from their HS ranking an that's why Duke could not crack the top 5 on rim defending...Our hearts are with you and @CamrnCrz1974 on this "ride from hell" that only a dope AD would continue the journey on. :oops:

So Texas gained Lauren Ebo as a result of the coaching change but lost Benzan.

I'm guessing Vic will be in the market for a point guard? Not sure that Allen-Taylor or Ortiz can really play point.

Prior to him leaving MSU there was rumor of him getting a grad transfer point. I wonder if this was her.

Benzan had committed to Texas (Aston) some time ago. This is the first that has been heard of her decommitment.

Texas beat out Maryland for Benzan in November. I guess Benzen asked for her release from Texas. Great pick up for Maryland even though they were already loaded at PG. They could use a post right now.

That makes sense. Some of our fans had thought the point guard grad transfer might be Destiny Slocum from Oregon State. However that may have been more of them wishing than anything of substance to it.

She actually signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement back in November 2019. Apparently, those don't bind the student-athlete, only the school.
