AAU viewing period underway again. UConn watching Sonia Citron in New York and Jillian Hollingshead in Georgia today.

Others in Atlanta this weekend that UConn may be checking out include Caroline Ducharme and the three targets listed here that are apparently doing well (Bransford, Mobley, Bollin):

Saniya Rivers also at the event in Atlanta where UConn is scouting.

The possibility of Wolfenbarger and Poffenbarger playing together is probably more realistic than we realized, as Jersey Wolfenbarger holds a Connecticut offer.

6’2” combo-guard who really fits positionless basketball. Thin frame, but really quick, can fill it up, and thrives in the big moments.

That's interesting considering all the reports of offers to her that have never included UConn. In this article it's mentioned in passing. In fact, there hasn't been any evidence of UConn interest in her much less an offer. If true, a real under-the-radar recruiting job. I just find it odd that nearly every offer she picks up is tweeted out by some source but UConn's wasn't.

In light of yesterday's new info, might as well start following Ms Wolfenbarger:

Jersey Wolfenbarger – Arkansas Banshees 17U – 2021

Wolfenbarger is making a HUGE splash on the 17U circuit as an underclassman. The 6-2 wing has one of the prettiest shooting strokes that we have seen this summer. Her frame and perimeter skill set put us in the mind of former Florida Gulf Coast star Whitney Knight. Wolfenbarger has a chance to be superior shooter at the next level than Knight was. As a result, Wolfenbarger is earning offers from schools arcoss the country.

Milaysia Fulwiley ('23) interviewed today and she mentions UConn interest. The audio is really poor.

Mir doesn't have a lot of luck with referees. Called for a foul on a great block in the second clip.

First one’s video is too far away to tell. Second is a foul, stopping video shows contact on the shoulder because of the downward swat.

Under the impression that incidental contact after a block isn't supposed to be called.
I don’t know what HS rules are now. The slow motion shows the contact is a direct result of the swat so I wouldn’t consider it incidental. Most referees will always react to the downward hack.

UConn one of very few schools from east of the Mississippi to attend the West Coast Premier event out in California. Okikola Iriafen ('21) is still my guess as to the reason for this.
