Interesting dynamics re. Hailey Van Lith PB. I love all three. PB plays like Sue Bird. is the proverbial generational talent and Hailey Van Lith has a unique game I’ve not seen in girls bb. She’s very strong and loves contact. Very effective through contact both o and d. Now to read Flynn’s tweets you’d think Hailey Van Lith kicked and blind side tackled her. Although AFs and her mother’s tweets where very professional and offered no direct accusations doesn’t rule out they believe Hailey Van Lith contact was unnecessary or flagrant. I think UConn has a real good chance landing I think she and Paige compliment each other. Also hoping geno would continue to recruit Hailey Van Lith just to see what he could or would do with her. I’m wondering if that’s not an option anymore due to personal dynamics

Not smoking I think Paige is better. Just offering a suggestion as to why the committee might have picked for reasons other than favoritism.
Maybe it’s a bias to UCONN and so many dislike UCONN are punishing PB for committing to UCONN. Anything is possible in today’s world.. I would rather Paige not play these kids need to give there bodies a rest.. way to many tournaments and constant playing... but Paige is far better then Hailey and Paige plays more like tauarsi then bird .. and Azzi is more of the maya moore type player.. Hailey V reminds me of a odyssey sims who is tough and can drive to the basket and likes contact almost like Arike from ND.

I think all the dynamics, perspectives and reactions on this (including Mike's) are significantly different than how the players are feeling. Much like you I would love to see all three players at UCONN. As a practical matter though I don't see how all three would work out for essentially would be three years together. All three at their very best are lead guards capable of getting their own and setting up others-All Alphas if you prefer.
I'm sure if someone is paying attention they would ask me how would UCONN signing Nika, Paige and Azzi be any different than UCONN signing Hailey Van Lith,Paige & Azzi? There are two small differences IMO. 1) Hailey Van Lith must play point guard because of her size and her skill set at this points demands that she have the ball in her hands to be effective. Nika, Paige & Azzi all have the size and ability to move off the ball and play some SG or even S/F. 2) Nika DoB is 09 Apr 2001 which makes her WNBA eligible in 2023 which would be at the conclusion of her Junior season at UCONN.

So if we say PB is a Bird/Taurasi mold player. Could we say Hailey Van Lith is more in the mold of JRizz? Wonder what folks think.

It's not an option, because there is NO way that the top 3 PGs of recent memory are ever going to the same school together.

agree with your assessment of all four players I certainly see Fudd off the ball and Paige too although I love her at point. You right Hailey Van Lith only works at the point so if anyone doesn’t fit it’s her but I’d love to see Geno give it a try. NM seems to have the mental makeup of the other three maybe a year behind on skills but I’d bet on her. Hope ur right about the girls being more mature then the adults.

Pretty sure ur right. I really don’t see as a point guard at next level though. Do you?

Azzi can play PG pretty well, but she's not really a PG and didn't play that position in high school. Carly Rivera, a Columbia commit, played PG for St. Johns. What Azzi is, is the best finisher in recent memory, on a par with Maya Moore and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis.

I’m expecting Hoopgurlz to revise their rankings in the next few days. ESPN usually does one around this time, and they did a men’s one for 2020 today.

I think they'll wait until after Boo Williams this weekend.

January writeup on Aaliyah Edwards:

Nationally Ranked #2 in the 2020 Class is 6’2 F Aaliyah Edwards. The level at which this forward has become a guard (in my book) is insane. Her handles in the open court are now breaking down defenders in the offense; her keen passing ability is now off the bounce; her 7-foot turnaround jumper is now a steady 3 ball. Oh, and the obvious and invaluable plethora of O boards. Defensively she’s in passing lanes and locking up on ball; uses her length and agility on the perimeter and swats shots and rebounds to run inside.

Has UConn expressed interest in Aaliyah Edwards? Does she have an offer? Or is she someone we hope UConn will look at?

An offer hasn't been confirmed, but they are definitely recruiting her. A local article said as much late last year. More recently, her team began "following" Jasmine Lister's Instagram account. That's not a coincidence.

For those who wanted Azzi Fudd's shooting percentages, aka Milford:

Azzi Fudd. The 5-11 sophomore guard at St. John's College (Washington, D.C.), was the Gatorade National Player of the Year and she continued to show why she is one of the most prized recruits in years. Need proof? She averaged 26.4 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals and shot 52 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range.
