I called a week or two ago about our season tickets to women's basketball, and got someone on the line pretty much right away. Of course, I wouldn't want to guess what things are like this week. Customer service over the phone for many entities is pretty poor these days, and it was heading that way before the pandemic started.

Glad they are playing. Too bad to open with a great UMass team instead of bottom-dwelling Vermont. 2 of 4 points would be OK; anything more a terrific start.

Carter Turnbull said freshman forward Nick Capone is "a big boy" and has scored a lot of goals in practice.

Turnbull expect "a big jump" in UConn's special teams after both units were towards the bottom of the country last season. He said it's been a big emphasis so far this year, something they've worked on every day in practice.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Courant has more coverage of the UConn men's ice hockey this season due to the great reduction in local sports events due to the pandemic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as of now BOTH UConn vs BC hockey games are still on for Friday and Saturday, yes?
If so, fantastic - and fingers crossed. Should be a hell of a test - especially without Firstov and Kuznetsov
