Sounds like he thinks RL wasn't too bright in some respects
I don’t know if I’d say it like that... but he definitely seems to think that the fast pace of the offense last year really hampered the other units. Looks like he’s looking for more balance in terms of pace while still having multiple looks. Can’t say I disagree.

Maybe a little strong, but it confirms for me that HCRE and FOCRL officially did not see eye to eye on “all tempo all the time” because the defense did not have enough time to recover.

I don’t think RL was pushed out but I do think that RE probably told him that they were going to have to slow it down a bit and that was another reason that he began interviewing. IIRC he had to let them know he was interviewing so I’m sure it wasn’t a surprise when he left for SMU.

RB is less pressing IMO. Mensah, Hopkins, Black, Scott is alright depth/quality and believe it or not the walk-on O'Reilly looks extremely athletic, maybe he could contribute...

Anyone actually have first hand knowledge about how Zavier Scott is doing at RB? It would be great if he became a viable option.

It sounds like the offense will slow the pace down significantly this year. In a vacuum, that’s a negative for me because the offense last year was actually exciting for a change. But if Randy thinks it’ll help the other phases, I can roll with it.

Not thrilled with the direction at all. At least the games were tolerable with some offensive production.

I hope to hell Randy Isnt headed back in the Diaco direction of controlled clock and trying to keep it close and steal wins. That might hunt in the old Big East, but not in the AAC.

There’s a vast world of football between playing as quick as possible and playing Diaco ball. Pace is a tool. There are times to dial it up and times to bring it back depending on the game situation.

I just want to be playing for some thing the last two games.

DeGeorge (#70)/Migliaccio (#59) locked up. Tunstall (#71) > Brouse (#95) and nice move by Buss (#26)

Random thoughts....while we have a few options to consider, I would like to see us start the year with Garrison Burnett and Kyle Buss on kick off return. I want two guys that can run it to avoid directional kicking.

Swann had the burst but fumbled too much. Maybe he can hold on to the ball better this year?

I would give Swann another shot. I dont think he will see the field much on D this year with all the new blood coming in, so his best opportunity will be on special teams in my opinion. He will need to show he is a changed man with possession however during August to get the nod.

So can we assume Van Demark is mauling our DEs and making gaping holes for Mensah, Fortt is breaking up slot receivers, TE routes and helping over the top on big throws and Scott is a punt catching machine? Well - that's what I am going with for now.

Smart way to encourage competition. Love it!

Brouse never had the frame. Buss on the other hand has some real skills but had family issues and got knocked around returning kickoffs. Would prefer we don't sacrifice his body doing that.

Very excited to see Coyle this year. He has next level potential.

If a punter could ever be a team's talisman, Desi was it.
