I'm pretty sure other programs do it or something similar. By example, I really like how Temple gives single digit unis to only its toughest players. This obviously has two benefits, recognition for effort and something for the rest of the team to chase. Its the game within the game.

I love it. Almost every team has a lunch box or hard hat or chain or baseball bat that they give out to guys on a earned basis. I follow the tour every year and the yellow jersey is one of the toughest things to obtain in all of sports. It is very appropriate.

Edsall does not f around. You either work or you sit. I remember when Donald Brown lost his starting slot after he fumbled for the second time one season. I hope he is the same disciplinarian. It’s the only way back to decent football.

i) updated for Fitton exit
ii) moved McLean to TE
iii) guestimated that Terry might be moved to the husky LB position

conclusion = I still think at least 1 DB either moves to WR or transfers prior to game 1.

All is good with rewarding some hard earned gold. Now, if they introduce a green jersey for top sprinters, white with pink polka dots for some type of king of the mountains, or cranberry pants for disastrous results it might go a bit too far.
