He knows and has known who the OC is; he's playing the game HR folks make hiring managers play. IMHO, he knew Rashlee was looking elsewhere, gave him permission to speak to others, and initiated his plan at same time. I would be sending Wholley and Edsall to Rayam first. Let’s nail this kid. Then send Edsall off to join Crocker and Cox meet to Woodson, then Surgers and then swing Edsall down to Miami to meet up with Grate along with Richardson. Seems like Baldodano is UCF bound.

I don't get your concern. Everyone in the country is now out and about trying to turn over rocks and find folks to fill their holes after the early signing period. If you are not at the top of the food chain -- and we are not -- why on earth would we give any publicity to someone we find under a rock?

I don't get your concern. Everyone in the country is now out and about trying to turn over rocks and find folks to fill their holes after the early signing period. If you are not at the top of the food chain -- and we are not -- why on earth would we give any publicity to someone we find under a rock?

Actually, it kind of does.

I just don't have the will to give Bizlawyer a serious response. The art of twitter in when to follow and when to lay low and when to swarm is all too nuanced to effort an explanation. Twitter is extremely important to 80% of these kids. You obviously scout/offer certain kids off the record while others want the game played in public. There is so much more, but why bother.... the original point of my post was to say that the tea leaves indicate Grimes was looking to leave because he was far less active in December and oddly still has not connected with Haynes on twitter (our most recently OL offer) while other coaches have. I would expect a position coach to reach out pretty quickly after the player is public with the offer and fellow coaches have also checked in.

I noticed today with Dunn hired and the SMU OL coaching job filled that Grimes added a new follow, a 2018 OL prospect in IL...so Grimes has reemerged.

I agree. Edsall’s reputation for evaluating talent is real. Really easy for other schools to get in on anyone he is interested in. I would bet it has happened already. Best to keep a lower profile for now.
