KJ Gray announces today at 730. Seems like he is Rutgers bound. Watching his HUDL tape, he does look a bit more like a CB, than WR. He would be a great surprise.

There really can't be a worse group of people that the "deans" of CT high school football coaches. First, they wouldn't give Edsall the time of day in the early 2000s. Then when Edsall got the program competitive in spite of them the old-time coaches tried to cozy up to him and Edsall, to his discredit, shut them out. Then they managed to talk a weak athletic director into hiring their equally-over-the-hill buddy who very nearly killed the program. Great talent in Fairfield County, can't wait for some of these old-timers to retire. too bad the kids are caught in the crossfire.

against the recommendation and request not to hire PP, by a very large donor (Mr. Burton) who not only has $$$ but some football acumen. It seems from afar the AD listened to CT FB HS Coaches Association more than the donor. Not saying the donor should have input or shouldn't have input, but when the story gets out there was something amiss.

be careful bro... that type of speculation in these parts make a lot of folks think you are delusional... but I certainly like your thinking. You think like what we are a FBS school that is on the cusp of a being P5. We should at least take a stab at recruits that are highly touted...

I'm totally with you on that. It would be great if he could enroll early, same with Rose. Both Rose and Williams should redshirt (they must!) and be ready to duke it out in spring football 2017.
 
There is only one more offensive lineman on the uncommitted list (Well two actually, but Lonsdorf decommitted and is a longshot to recommit). Where does the staff rank Keith Coleman. According to Rivals, he holds offers to Temple and URI, and lists his interest in all three schools as Medium.

1) Can he be coached up?
2) Being local, does UConn have the inside track?
3) Do 1) or 2) even matter?

No direct knowledge but the earlier intel was that UConn has moved on... doesn't mean they can't circle back based on pecking order of outstanding offers.

If we don't add another kid - then it leaves space for a spring transfer. A transfer slot maybe wiser than anyone that is a reach. Lots of decent kids cycle out of top programs - we should be ready to catch those kids.

I'd almost rather stay with what we have and put the word out we have space for transfers.

Is Coleman doing a PG year right now? Or is he a senior? I feel like he's the type of guy who might end up PGing at prep school if he isn't already
 
Seems like Anthony Pegues committed to Montana State earlier this month. Not sure if he really truly had an offer from UConn since no one else reported it.

Does anyone know anything about Scarlett (de) from Bloomfield ? I've been to a lot of HS games in the southern part of state, but haven't seen any CCC teams. A friend of mine said he reminds him of Trevardo Williams.

He made a number of the All State teams @ DE (6-3 225) but I'm seen very little about him in recruiting circles. No profile on major sites.

Anybody think we'll get a few OVs this weekend? I sure hope so. We typically get commits from kids we haven't even heard about.... There's kids I've seen pop up on our radar thru twitter, rivals that I wonder might take in a trip to Storrs CT within the next 4 days... I don't have any specifics on names but I can give one I noticed that we started noticing was DE TJ Carter, who just committed to Kentucky last night.

Should be an interesting 5 days if you're into stuff like this...
