Awesome start, hopefully we can keep pusing on. Georgia Tech saved Gold and is paying dearly for it.

Radio link 2 posts above and on ESPN3

Thanks!! ... I found the ESPN3 info this morning but forgot to delete that sentence before posting ... haha

Outstanding half inning. Really takes the pressure off of the pitching staff.

Huge to get a quick easy 1-2-3 inning. GA Tech looks a little overmatched against the poor little northern school, no? ;)

7 - nothing wow!! Take that ACC!

UCONN baby!!

7 0 still, going into the top of the 6th. Another run or two would just about do it.

I can't get ESPN3 or WHUS on my work computer. Anyone watching a live box score and, if so, could you share the link?

Former MLB All-Star Carlos Peña giving UConn and Penders some major love on the broadcast.

GT essentially gave up and went to one of their worst pitchers to mop up innings and we haven't sniffed him. Now we have to use a lot of bullpen arms. Would have been nice to have Cate throw eight innings and win 11-2.

Not watching here. Did the Huskies simply ease up on the gas since Cate was dealing and they want to stay fresh?

Cate was starting to lose steam.

Not watching either, but UConn stopped hitting - only an infield single off a freshman slop pitcher with a 7.50 ERA in four innings. Cate started laboring and falling behind hitters and they pulled him after a lead off single in the seventh. The bullpen started walking people and gave up a two-run HR in eighth. Had to go to closer (Ruotolo) for a two-inning save try when it looked like he would be able to rest up. He did well in the eighth but three outs to go.

RUOTOLO with 1-2-3 8th.

Ruotolo...36.1 innings over 23 appearances. 1.73 ERA with batters hitting .198 against him.

11 saves. Soon to be 12.

Huskies go quietly in 9th with a 7-4 lead.

Wreck has their 8-9-1 batters coming up!
