has starting pitcher been announced? I am guessing with no lineup the answer is no but not sure if word got out what direction Penders was going...I am assuming Montgomery gets the nod to put us in best position to get to Sunday without having to play again tonight.

It seems that with UConn college baseball, we're forever waiting for that twitter announcement of the starting lineup for confirmation of the starting pitcher. It would be a big surprise to me if Montgomerie were not the starting pitcher today. Coach Penders strikes me as a pretty sensible guy with this sort of thing, and besides, from the interviews that I've seen with him recently, he is a big believer in the power of this winning streak, and seems absolutely committed to doing things that will not muck about with it. The best way to keep this streak alive is to start Montgomerie, and that is what I expect Penders to do.
 
Need to start Montgomerie and take care of business. If what we want to happen, happens which is Tulane beat Houston in this first game and we lose, then we are looking at playing in the 4th game of the day which I can't see starting any earlier than 8 tonight and maybe later and then if you win late tonight having to turnaround a play a noon game tomorrow. If Tulane wins this first game let's take care of business and sit back and let them go at it.

UCONN is going to score a ton of runs today. I am not at all convinced we should waste Montgomerie when Houston is absolutely rolling right now.
 
Starting lineup is out, and color me surprised. Rossomando is starting.

I almost wonder if Houston winning has changed Penders thought process on the pitchers. I'm guessing he is thinking that beating Houston in the championship might be a must because if Houston gets the 3rd bid from the league there may not be a 4th for us. Almost a winner take all mentality and so he is willing to take a shot with others to beat a not so good Memphis team. Not having Melley won't help however.

If it's true it certainly wouldn't be very smart to talk smack and give anyone any additional incentive. Just dumb if true.
 
Well they're playing like they were out late last night right now. Tough break right there, hit the ball hard and 3rd baseman makes the short hop and can't get run in from 3rd.

Were gonna have an off game eventually. It would suck to have to burn Montgomerie but looks like that's what it gonna happen.

Just got back from shopping, so I don't know a thing about this suspension stuff. I did hear on the way home according to Chris Jones that Jack Riley and Devin Over are suspended as well.

I thought Nepiarsky was well buried in the bullpen, but here he is back in potentially long relief.
 
We look great right now. Come on!! Chance to make the tourney and they are playing like crap. Literally sleepwalking right now.
