ECU losing 5-3 after 5 and a half. Would this be a good thing? Would certainly think the road to the Championship game would be ours to lose.

Could be title or bust if they win this. Seems like we are too close to the bubble where just beating Memphis and USF isn't going to push us in. Hopefully a 12 game streak at that point and an rpi around 50 would be enough.

Houston beats Tulane to advance to Saturday 5-3.

Houston beats Tulane to advance to Saturday 5-3.

Which of course means Tulane will need to win 3 games on Friday and Saturday to get to the AAC Finals. The path to an AAC championship title got a little bit brighter for the Huskies, assuming they beat USF tonight.

All three of USF's weekend starters pitched yesterday. The USF closer gets the start tonight.

Tim Cate retires the side in order in the bottom of the 1st, recording 2 strikeouts in the process. No score.

Suddenly a very good chance the American becomes a 3-bid league. 1-seed Tulane in losers bracket, 2-seed ECU out.

2nd inning, Toppa singles, steals 2nd, and scores off a couple of wild pitches. USF gets a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. Tied at 1 after 2 innings.

Chris Jones on WHUS says that the coaching staff has decided that Anthony Kay will not start on short rest on Sunday, that he would be used in relief that day instead.

Gee I like Toppa, the kid does a little of everything. Bats coming alive.

Toppa bunts Daniello to 3rd (not a fan of that strategy the way Toppa is hitting) and a ground out by Susi gets Daniello to home plate. 4-1 UConn going into the bottom of the 5th.

Usf is gonna get killed by memphis tomorrow if we hold on, they have 0 pitching left.

Keep it up, crucial to suffocate them the next couple innings.
