Scout just ran an article saying that RB Augustus Edwards and Ogundeko are going to be a package deal and pick the same school....

Even then, the pair admits that the discussion often begins with the schools closest by, particularly SU and UConn.

“It always begins with those two schools, because both of those schools are basically fighting for me and him,” said Oguneko. “They know if they get one of us, they’re going to get the other.”

COME ON P.....GET IT DONE!!!

Ogundeko seems like the type of kid who can be pretty easily persuaded in recruiting and he kind of seems to be a prisoner of the moment type guy, a lot like many other 17 year old kids.

When Syracuse goes 3-9 next year, I doubt he'll be signing with them.

Makes me think Ogundeko is the most highly sought after prospect UConn has ever been in the discussion with. (and at one point got a commitment from). WHo knows what will happen. I am expecting nothing and hoping for the best.

Looks like we may have a commit from Tommy Hopkins from NY. His rivals profile is updated as committed today (5/1). Nice pick-up, just performed well in a recent invite event.

Good news indeed. Not yet rated by Rivals, but Farrell refers to him as a surefire three star in announcing the commitment.

Hopkins said the Eagles have asked him to camp again this summer. When asked where the Eagles rate on his list Hopkins played it close to the vest.

"I like them," he said. "They're not the favorite but they're up there. I really like UConn and Syracuse, those two schools, but I like Boston College, too."

Ogundeko talks about camps and the upcoming season and lists off a huge number of offers. Says his top 5 is Bama, Cuse, Uconn, Florida, and ASU. This would be hell of a recruiting win to pull this off

i still don't understand ASU. but i keep hearing them in the top 5. if laray and gus both go non local then ogun is going to pick between fl and bama. if one or both of those guys go cuse or uconn, then ogun will go to cuse or uconn. thats my guess at this point.

Why in the world would a kid let 2 other kids decide his college choice? Makes no sense.

Remember seeing him at one of our later games last year probably after his season ended along with a large number of other recruits, he was the biggest of the group. He is listed at 6-6, 280 lbs. good size . UConn seems to have a couple of good OL as verbal commits.

todays notes (will edit it as i find stuff):

-Saban visited Augustus Edwards (i refer to him as gus here for no reason really) after ogun yesterday. saw this on the cuse board and hot dam they have a recruit forum now. bama doesn't need anymore rb's for this class or ath's. interesting stuff...come on PP
-ogun visiting nd and bama this summer, told a nd writer that after dc'ing from uconn after jr day they are still high on his list.
-camara will camp at cuse this summer.
-DT Hunter Knighton from hun school is someone we have shown interest in, he got a offer from USCe. I was hoping our new connect there would be of influence.

Folorunso Fatukasi Dont know if this kid is in the thread but I just read a Rivals article where he says we've told him we will offer. He has an impressive build. The competition in his video doesn't look all that impressive, on one play the the oline parts like the red sea for him.

He is a DTackle by the way.

Great looking prospect right there. Relentless motor. Hits with authority, driving the ball carrier into the ground. I like what I saw in that clip. Big kid, pretty agile and athletic for his size. Good quickness off the snap. Get him to storrs!

He only played in two games his jr year due to a knee injury. Maybe the reason he is under the radar. Also I think he is from far rockaway. P and the staff seems to be hitting that NYC area hard, I like it.

going back to the spring game for a sec, Hunter Taute was in attendance. hes a good looking prospect out of MA. I think he has a umass offer. anyway post being at the uconn spring game he said "i think i have a new #1". he also said during the game that he loved the atmosphere and band there. about a month ago there was a report that bcu was his #1. great job PP and staff, now lets lock him up at camp! NYC & NE is UConn Country!

DB's, OL, DL..........need the majority of this class to fill those spots. Also hope to see 2 RB's in this class.
Agreed... and, IMO, jury still out on QB... so that should be considered a position to recruit as well.. and not a walk on...

Add 2 TE and subtract 1 FB with Frank, Osiecki, Vinci, Clax all competing for it.

Is Thomas definitely a DB, not a WR?

My thought is that we lose Griffin and Delahunt and adding only one TE will still leave us thin. Also, we were talking that they might want to adopt NE Patriots-style multiple TE formations.
I'm sure they recruit fullbacks, if you can get a real talented fullback you can move Clax or Vinci to linebacker, or the one with the best hands to TE. Best available player. But I don't think it's a position they'll reach for this year.

Just a few opinions from what I've observed on the NJ front. Callinan and Jeune seem very high on BC, Notre Dame and Rutgers respectively. I don't see or hear them talk about UConn as much as those programs. Don't sleep on Allen as a WR. Ran an incredible 4.47 40 at a mini-event last weekend and I believe has garnered new interest as a wr from UCF and Syracuse. The word in So Jersey is Allen will be finishing HS at a prep, possibly Avon Old Farm in Ct. or Fork Union in ACC country. I will follow up on this.

noel thomas- for argument sake here i will list him as a ath as i try to build a target list. trying to put guys on here that we have offered or are showing heavy interest in and will most likely offer. all of these names also are interested in uconn. i didn't include alot of kids becuase ive seen they are not uconn bound or not interested compared to other offers they have.

OL barone, hopkins, mcdonald, zeff, vaughn, kennedy, fisher
QB boyle, walker
WR jeune, bradley, grant, callinan, barnes, coggins
RB smith, edwards, smallwood
FB walsh, pk kid(name?)
DB mitchell, irvin-sillis,
LB issah, bell, jasudowich, taute, barton
DL ogundeko, montgomery, opara, coward, camara, beckford, hush
ATH thomas, van allen, kelly
TE isaacs, o'neil, allen,

Didn't I read somewhere that the kid Landon Stokes had some interest in taking a visit to us. Would be a solid DL pick up.

I think were looking for a FB this class. We are in on a kid from pk ny and walsh from madison. several others have been mentioned as well as a mass lb that would be a fb in college(forget name).

thomas is going to be a saftey.

good point we need a TE. 2 tho?

maybe start trying to fill in our target list that we have a good shot at

4-OL barone, hopkins, zeff
1-QB boyle
2-WR callinan, coggins
2-RB smith, edwards
1-FB walsh, pk kid(name?)
3-DB thomas, mitchell
2-LB issah, bell, jasudowich
3-DL ogundeko, montgomery, opara, coward, camara, beckford
2-ATH allen
2-TE

I don't think that's far from what I'd like to see. I'm going to assume that our class this year is going to be another 20+ class. Here is what I'd ideally like to see. Obviously, you make exceptions for getting kids you really want.

4 OL
4 DL
2 RB
1 QB
2 WR
1 TE
2 LB
4 DB
2 ATH

I don't see a need at FB nor do I think we need to bring in 2 TE's. I'd rather see us stockpile more depth on both lines. 5 on each side of the ball would not surprise me. And, as Bobby Bowden would say, you can never have too many ath-a-letes.

Is Neally C eligible to enroll in 13? If so, would he count as 12 or 13?

Dan, curious how you determined interest either from UCONN or from the recruit. Has UCONN reached out to most of these kids either in person or otherwise?

most of the kids above have offer from uconn and have in either articles, on twitter or known thru sources are interested back(legit interest). some of these kids on here without offers have visited(campus, spring game etc) and have gotten visited(by staff at school or at home etc). i find all the info i can to give u guys. social media has changed the game of recruiting.

Thanks I was just wondering because some of those listed I didn't realize were actually targeted rather than just prospects. Did you list them in order of priority?

An extremely reliable source confirms UConn coach visited Washington Township HS in So Jersey as well as Roman Catholic in Philly. Not sure if you guys know about Will Fuller in Philly, but this is a future star! Allen is at Wash Township. If your receiving core is Allen , Fuller and Dhameer Bradley OMG!! Hope you find the right QB to feed those monsters! The Big East would be in trouble. I don't need any website to tell me about those 3. Seen'em up close and personal recently at several events. Awesome job by the UConn coach!
