thanks.

yea the trail is fun 247, i have over the past couple years become a real junky for it. just imagine if we had a actual d1 coach who recruited at the high level. crazy **** would be going on here lol. u have the color scheme right.
blue bold-commit
green-in top group/final list/heavy interest/good shape if u will
purple-shown mutual interest
balck-offered but can't judge interest
red-didn't make final list or seen negative interest

as for laray, i need to change his color. we went cold for a while and he left us off the list and he went red. he has gotten some new offers lately but also been a bit quiet. i was recently told he would be visiting(uconn) the dec 1st weekend so i guess now we do have some interest again but its very hard to tell wtf is going on lol. i will change him back to black for now, i forgot to when i added the visit date today. you are right to question it...hope this helps

Thanks Dan...appreciate all your effort! Yeah PP seems to be doing alright with the recruiting, but we're now seeing that the rest of his game just isn't there anymore... unfortunately! If Manuel is bold enough to make a change at season's end, at least the cupboard won't be bare.

some one recently asked me how i would go about this month leading up to our big weekend and how to finish off this class.
we have 17 commits. i'm holding by on my 25 man class prediction for now.

-i call stevens and dunn, i tell them both there offers are good as they know. but as of nov 20th i will be offered several more players at your position(s) becuase i'm looking to lock up kids sooner then later.
-i need to get the ball rolling in 2014. i offer bryan and sylva. they can verbal. they know as well as i do that they need to get good grades and then get the record to uconn next fall for jan enroll 2014. thats all fine. but 2 quick verbals at a great juco we have connections to will help media wise #1 and #2 its always hard for hs kids to be the first commit to a school, especially one like uconn vs a nd/mich/bama. this will help a lot. it shows we have kids that want to be here and that were going to fill spots quickly.
-take that momentum and make sure you have offered these 5 running backs. outlow, newsome, cooper, phillips, eramus hall rb(sorry forgot name right now)
-ok, back to 2013. you call fuchs up and give him the same deal stevens and dunn
-add 3 juco OL or 1 stud hs OL for the class and 2 jucos. find 3. finnin seems to be a good 1 and if we land him thats 1/3rd the way.
-call up your juco TE or 2 and tell them act or offers going out nov 20th.

-this staff has hit a stall spot it seems and i'm not likling it. make some action happen asap
-note stevens may be a lb or de. not sure...
-i would also offer nash a prefered walkon spot, and his milford/gwich buddy also if both are not offered becuase we land higher players on the chart...

players to offer on nov 2oth.
-camara and nash. tell them first to commit from the lb pot of offers we have is the answer. i think we will have a commit from that pot by dinner time that night if we didn't before that day.
-offer joyner. he is some 1 i have wanted for a while. he will be good TE depth long term and a step above the frosh next year on the field wise. he is a great nyc add for the program also fwiw. also offer the nj kid who recently mad emy chart. joyner gets action before him. we will easily get a commit at this spot as result of these actions.
-"officially offer" aaron hush if we havn't. seems to be a messy answer to that. tell gratz to call his boy and lock him up. we need him depth wise for next year. we need to land hush or stevens.

18-te(fuchs, vandenburg then offer joyner and the nj kid. i feel if we dont land the fuchs/juco kid then joyner would be a lock up at this position and no further search needed.)
19-playmaker/game changer(fuchs, laray(marriner to cb then imho), jeune, whitehead, thomas, flood)
20-lb(dunn, stevens can both commit. if not camara and nash would fight over this spot) lets get this done.
21-de(hush, stevens possibly, trent)
22-ol(miller is a stretch, other hs kids are possible like dunham. if not then juco route)
23-ol(finnin has to be #1 target of juco kids)
24-ol(juco kid needed...) or a extra de(see list above)
25-a 2nd playmaker

basically i feel we are in really good shape with 40-45 offers out and about a list of 15 kids non offered that would jump at offers. but the staff isn't pushing enough as several of these kids have less options now and we are 1 of them. its time to get some action or move on. we need to lock up slot everywhere accept OL and go on a all or nothing search for them. thats the best way for us to be sucessful this winter finding OL. be done with everything else and focus on them...

we could possibly finish the year like this if our staff pushed a bit and got work done...
18-fuchs
19-laray
20-dunn or stevens or hush
21-stevens then trent
22-miller then dunham
23-finnin
24-hush then a open slot for a OL most likely
25-thomas/jeune then whitehead

Good reason to hit the JUCO route for O linemen spots this year as according to comment in article on rivals (link below) not lot of quality linemen still available so better to go with less from this class and pick up JUCO guys than really reach. Think the two we have are pretty solid committs, as Schafenacker seemed to really like UConn, only concern is that coach has ties to current staff so not sure what will happen if there is a change. I know people who have ties to Hopkins team and he is very much a lock regardless, he always followed us and we were top choice early on in recruiting process. Apparently his recruiting got very hot after his performance at a rivals event in New Jersey where he was one of top performers among some solid competition and bunch of schools were going to visit but we locked him down few days later, couple of schools (Syracuse, BC, and UMass) were in touch afterwards with his coaches or him to see if he would change committment but were told he was not changing his mind.

Another guy to be serious about from New York is Chris Cooper at Iona Prep who is having great year on both sides of ball, very dynamic player.

Spoke with Jake Basilica yesterday. This kid has reworked his body after attending football camps and worked hard all summer losing weight to 260 then adding 30 pounds of muscle. Now at 6'5" 290. Really good kid with a 3.2 GPA. Four year starter both ways. Loves UConn!

interesting. what schools are looking at him? i know uconn and bc were interested over the summer.

I didn't ask him, I just asked him where he is interested in going. Sat with his Dad at Ledyard game and he told me about how his son took the advice of BC coaches and asked his Dad to help him transform his body-his Dad also lost a lot of weight [former NLHS football player and NL fireman union leader]. You can really see the difference in Jakes body this year-probably will play at 320 in college. Class act kid that would be an asset to wherever he goes.

2 ugly situations i think ppl should be aware of as far as recruiting goes on our charts right now

1) cuse commit edwards and other totville players are in some trouble. not sure if its grades or if its related to the girl that jumped in front of a train after fball players boinked her and made fun of her. there is a lot going on down there it seems so i'm sure i only have a small part of the story
2) goose creek down south is a powerhouse program. they have been kicked out of the playoffs i believe becuase kids on the team had grades fixed so they can play. havn't seen anything with stevens name on it but its somethign to watch. that school will put our a handful of bcs kids...

HFD - Goose Creek is about an ineligble players - not grade fixing.

"The issue involved a transfer student from within the Berkeley County School District who had already used up his four years of athletic eligibility at the high school level. The player’s eligibility came to light on Monday when Husky was reviewing transcripts for the upcoming boys basketball season. Husky, who reported the violation to the SCHSL, said the transcript showed the athlete in question had been in high school for four years already. When the athlete’s eligibility was reviewed through the PowerSchool online system in September, it only listed three prior years of high school, so Goose Creek was not aware of the issue at that time, Husky said." Appeal underway - #11 ranked team in USA Today poll.

I had not heard about this story, and I'm going to try to Google it to find out more. If this story is true, what an unbelievably horrible and disgusting situation. Bullying at its worst...

Unfortunately, this is a true story. Regardless of the young lady's choices, bullying is not acceptable and those involved should be punished...A sad, sad story!

I'm thoroughly disgusted now. Her parents died when she was young. Sounds like she already had a tough life, and then a bunch of trash bullies her to the point of taking her own life....I hope they all get what's coming to them....

EDIT: Sorry to derail what is normally a very upbeat recruiting thread. This will be the last that I comment on the situation.

Gus Edwards and Malique Belfort were two of four Tottenville football players removed from the team because of the case.

http://highschoolsports.silive.com/...-for-football-playoff-win-over-new-dorp-28-0/

Edwards (868 yards rushing, 8.3 yards per carry, 11 TDs) and Belfort (32 receptions, 17.3 yards per catch, seven TDs) were two of the four players ruled inactive for “a violation of team rules,” according to Tottenville head coach Jim Munson, who did not reveal the identity of the other two lesser-impact players.

Tottenville principal John Tuminaro confirmed Saturday the four inactive Pirates “would not be playing the rest of the year.”

i'm all for landing any talent we can at this point roste wise. but i do question ifour offer will still be good now. we have 18 commits and we are clealy trying to add a couple players at other positions so i'm not sure if were going to add a 3rd lb. you could argue holiness is going to be a lb and we could be talking a 4th lb which would prob not make sense for this class. with cory jzz and joseph on board now our chart has taken a huge trun to what we now need position wise recently. we clearly wat 2+ more OL and 1 or 2 more DL it seems. as far as guys we talk about tht are on our radar i think that needs to be re thouht a bit also. i find it now hard for us to offer shane nash at milford or camara unless we have other positions in mind. not to long ago i wantedto offer kids lie that to put pressue on slots we had avalable and lock up kids. the recent commits now have us moving along very impressively an are really making this class look etter and better.

based off this and the 40ish offers out i feel in better shape than i ever though heading into tgiving week. we have a ton of visits coming that ast weekend and i hope for 20 commits b the end of that weekend. we have things going real well on the trail juco wise with dean and nas for example.

i think i would right now change my focus 10 to hush/fuchs/jeune/miller/trent/whitehead/thomas/stevens/finnin/dunham

i can now see the class going something like this
19-ol (miller then dunham)
20-ol (finnin then other jucos, we need atleast 1 juco for depth asap)
21-wr (jeune then thomas)
22-db (we seem to be searching hard on the trail for ath kids to convert at this point)
23-dl (stevens, trent, hush)
24-dl or te
25-te/ath/playmaker/maybe a 2nd qb also who knows (fuchs, whitehead...)

IMO - If we don't get more hogs, the other offense positions are useless!

he really has just improved over time. impressive speed and vision with the short passes/flips. any news on him with offers? i know hes on the radar. i would think umass should be all over him no?

He currently holds an offer from Stonybrook. I haven't heard much else, but I have to believe that he will get a late push from D1 schools. He had an outstanding summer camping up and down the East Coast and is having an All State/MVP type season. Including last night's game, he has nearly 1,000 all purpose yards and 20 TDs (7 rush, 12 pass, 1 punt) on the season. He's averaging 11 yd/carry on the ground and 24 yd/catch.

Just wanted to mention that one of the sites is reporting that UConn has now offered juco Will Dancy, a Left OTackle from Thatcher Arizona. Not sure how valid this is, but I thought I would pass it on anyways since we know that Staff is actively looking at some Juco LOT’s…
