-we also have 2 kids right now without rankings. so if each got a 2* lets say that would give us another 60 to 90 points, if either is a 3* then its over 100. that alone puts us in the mid 50's right now. also a good amount of schools higher up have almost full classes already meanwhile we have 5+ kids to go so were only going to be adding points just like most schools but i think we will add more players for more possible points. being top 50 on rivals is not out of the question this year.
new rivals scale

for the record i value other offers more, i think u know that over stars but enjoy my rankings as well.
i'm going to do a offers thing next so far between the classes.

Thank you that is very helpful. I think "uptick" is the right word. Hopefully, by 2/1 the right word is something a lot more positive.

That cant be right it would refute Carl's assertion regarding our recruiting from '07-10

to follow up on this. if you look at bc(not trying to get at them right now) they are ranked top 50 right now. its because they have 16 commits vs our 12. the quality of there class sin't much better at all. they have a handful of guys with legit offers and big time looks and the rest are no offer or mac type offer guys. them just having 4 more commits gets them another 200+ points basically at this stage. they will slowly fall ranking wise while we will climb. they peaked and there class is brutal minus 1 ct kid and 1 fl kid.

2012: did not include transfers at all
13 offers from "power 5" confs
12 offers from our level(be/nbe teams)
-the late addition of clax boosted the power 5 # big time

2013: so far
5 offers from power 5
8 offers from our level

if you just filled the class in base doff average the numbers would be 10 and 16.

-so were a little less average wise right now with power 5 conf offers, winning that battle became tougher with conf rel and the espn pumping power 5 now it seems.
-we are doing above average vs others on our level
-so were fringe right now?
-seems like 1 or 2 good commits like a laray or miller or montgomery and these numbers will change drastically...

Ran the average Rivals Ratings per recruit
'13 5.47
'12 5.42
'11 5.46
'10 5.40
'09 5.26
'08 5.22
'07 5.25
An uptick, getting close to 5.50 (3*) avg rating/recruit
Looking at a few of our conference foes, Cinci, Rutgers and even USF had major noticable upturns after their best season(s) We are at their level prior to their breakouts
We may need to win with breakout year(s) to get to their level of recruiting according to Rivals' system. I like the guys we have in the program going forward.

so with cam we have a interesting te recruiting situation now. btw cam had a couple offers which is another solid get! anyway, we have thompson who will go to de. cam is a te or is he also a de? myers is a te, but i have heard about him possibly slimming down a bit then adding muscle and giving it a go at wr/c. we have a stud offer in fuchs out and i hope we still go after him. this is my thought along with also offering(after grades) joyner and making him a ot or something. this could be a 5 te class lol. the staff is on a nice little roll here. question is can we turn these commits from nyc and fl lately into some serious momentum in good recruit spots into some early 2014 looks.

247 sports rated bradley a 3* 80 when he commited. they have now bumped him up to a 3* 87 grade.

Myers going to WR/C would be interesting.
Joyner doesn't have any grade issues, but I like the way you're thinking!

smallwood is going to commit somewhere 2day i think.

I need some help on the Meyers info. It states he might be moved to WR / C. I think that means either wide receiver or center. If I am correct, that seems little odd. They are positions that are on the opposite side of the spectrum. The C has to mean center (what else can it be).

.-.
You haven't heard of the new CB/LB/DE hybrid? Able to cover tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs, or rush the passer. Gives the defense plenty of looks. Also, sells popcorn and beer at half time.

Seriously, I can't wait to see Myers on the field. Not sure what they'll do with him but I'm sure it will be good.

Thanks
i think i ment to type wr/cb
Thanks for the info. The Center thing was messing me up. It is a great advantage to have recruits that come in that can play different positions. It give everyone more competition and leads to greater depth at each position.

summers and myers both get 2* on rivals. we have a top 60 class ranking wise it seems right now on both 247 and rivals fwiw.

anyone else feel like hadley and stapleton should be 3* guys on rivals? both had more than 1 offer from bcs conf teams....some 1 should challenge that shit on the rivals board just to let them know were watching them trying not to notice our uptick in recruiting...

noel did the cover shoot today for msg. it comes out mid sept for all those interested. guess who is on the cover with him? ebenezer ogundecko. yup thats right, hopefully he and noel hit it off today :D

i will add matt walsh in soon to the op. hopefully he is not the only one this weekend.

By the time the commit becomes official Hadley will be 3 stars

Hadley has a 5.4 Rivals Rating, a decent year would push that up to 5.5 and 3*
Myers is a 5.3, he may not get bumped up high enough unless its a relatively monster year. Summers is also 5.3

couple small updates. walsh got 3* from espn fwiw.

It seems that espn in showing uconn more love on its recruiting site . 7 3* recruits out of a class of 14. That's not bad at all.

Espn Commitment List 3 star recruits

2010 5
2011 4
2012 8 ( including neally cunningham who didn't qualify)
2013 7

glad others are noticing the uptick. its like this on rivals as well and 247 . scout is being a hater just dropping 2* nr's on most kids and will wait because they lost this fan base which hurts site hits i'm sure....

I think the distinction between 2 and 3 stars on the sites is indciative of very little. Offers probably holds some meaning, but that assumes the sites depict that accurately and often they don't. At the level we are at (i.e. most programs) assessing and developing talent is equally important as getting who you want.

This is why I could care less about stars. Sites manipulate star rankings to satisfy fanbases who buy subscriptions. Besides, you can't tell me there's much of a difference between a 2 and 3 star kid. It's purely guess work at that stage. The top kids, sure, you can tell.

I put more stock into a kid's offer list more than anything else. And half of the time, those are inflated by the prospect anyway.

Scout ranks prospects up to 200 in most postions. save specialsts K, P.
What makes #102 kid over #126, #146...

This is what has baffled me about the ranking and recruiting of Isaacs. Per Rivals he is the #7 TE in the nation. Think about that for a moment and grasp what you would think the recruiting interest would be for this type of 4-star prospect. However, his offers have remained BC, UConn, Maryland and Rutgers since virtually the beginning of recruiting cycle. It was well known that his BCU commit was the softest of all soft commits, but that didn't increase the interest in Isaacs at all. No PSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, ND, Pitt, UNC, NC State, Miami or anyother apparent interest or offers. The schools I listed are gererally those that get some traction in northeast recruiting and know the top prospects in the area. Not saying that Isaacs isn't a good player, but the offer list tells a story.

if u look back in this thread(don't bother just saying lol) i remember talking about this. the kid is a solid 3* prospect but when he committed to bc the pump up was on and he went p to 4* quick. just how the game goes on the sites.

i also put way more weight into other offers and certain things then stars. but i also want the most stars possible for every kid because its a major perception thing. i'm all about uconn rising levels in the game so i want stars just so other fan bases can see them. i want people to notice uconn more etc.

as for other offers, this class is doing pretty well so far. we have no big fish offers wise that had a bunch of good ones, but about half the class had at least 1 solid other offer. were on pace to improve again off the previous year which would make 2 years in a row where the recruiting took another step up. eventually these steps will look a lot more easier to spot but right now they are small in building momentum considering the past 2 rocky years of uconn fball.

10 of our 14 commits so far have gotten at least 1 3* already. thats more than ever(pretty sure) before already and were not not done with this class. uptick in progress from many angles.

Isaacs didn't camp at all or go to any combines in the last year. That's why he's gone under the radar as far as offers.

Last I heard about isaacs is he tore his acl at the end of the season so that's why he hasn't camped this summer.
