I live in Memphis so I would love for the SEC tournament to be played here at FedEx Forum and a game like today would have been packed with MSU fans and USC would have lost...no doubt about it.

doubt it.

One thing that I haven't seen anyone here touch upon, was that Mississippi State had a relatively short turn-around for the Finals game today, after playing Kentucky late last night. The Semifinals started late regardless IMO, with the South Carolina-Arkansas game starting at 5 PM, then the Miss St.-Kentucky game starting at 7:30 PM. That means their game ended around 9:30 PM, and then they need to get back to the hotel, get something to eat, probably have a team meeting or two, then by the time they get to sleep it's pretty late.

Then the game today was at 2:00 pm. Could the Bulldogs have simply not gotten enough rest for today?

Should have won the regular season then....

I've thought all Season that Oregon was the Best Team. However, after seeing a couple of recent So Carolina games, I"m not so sure. The Best team might be So Carolina. Where Oregon has the advantage its there experience and of course Sabrina. If So Carolina is able to run on Oregon, they'll beat them and the game might not be close.

doubt it.
Home court is a big advantage but I do not believe we could have beat the South Carolina team we played today even if the game was played at the Hump. Not sure any team could beat the team we played today. South Carolina is going to be a tough out In the NCAA tournament.

Jackson looked burnt out, but I think that dealt more with her having to carry to the team at times against LSU and Kentucky than it did the short turnaround.

Yep... and they lost a hour to boot... cause of the daylight savings time shift.

The ACC suffers from the same short turnaround... but its just for the last quarterfinal to the semifinals... late friday night to saturday afternoon. Hopefully next season... for the SEC.... ESPN can get rid of showing the AAC Semi at 4pm... and move the ACC final to 2pm.... and the SEC Final to 4pm.

She also had a tough matchup with Brea Beal. Brea really killed her crashing the offensive and defensive glass.

She has been a giant work horse, so she has been on the court all the time. Miss St couldn't afford not to have her out there. She is the best player. She carried Miss St big over LSU and Kentucky.

It happens, this is where SC's quality of depth was an advantage for them. Miss St does not have the same type of caliber depth.

It's a shame this game couldn't have been more watchable and I feel all of you really. You guys can turn this into a pissing contest, but at the end of the day I'm glad we might avoid Portland. It's still likely we get put in Portland as a #3 seed, but we're pretty much guaranteed Portland if we won - given Baylor's lost today.

Now NcState will get Greenville (they'll be vastly outnumbered), UConn gets Portland, Stanford gets Dallas, and Louisville Fort Wayne. Top 8 is pretty much settled now.

Seriously... remember Dawn in 2018 who said she didn't like getting put in UConn's bracket? That wasn't a great prize after coming off a huge win. Same deal today except Vic had the opposite result on essentially a minor game.

It must be nice to have the SEC tournament in South Carolina every year though. What would the score be if this game was played in Southaven, Jackson, or in Biloxi I wonder??
Every year? The Gamecocks have won the SECT in Little Rock, Jacksonville, Nashville and Greenville. There's not a big enough arena in Mississippi to host it.

Landers Center in Southaven seats 9,000 people...that's plenty for a woman's basketball game...LOL
I think there were well over 9000 there today. Also, remember the lower seats are removed for media and one end for the broadcast breakaway crew, so probably 1000-2000 seats are unavailable. A 9000 seat arena would be reduced to 7000.

State will be better next season. They'll have the same depth that SC enjoys this season.

On the other hand, SC will lose two VERY important seniors.. but their freshmen will be a year in the system and a year of conditioning. And we've barely seen Amihere at her best, who I still think could be the best of them all when it's all said and done.

MSU has been very up and down. Their game at SC may have been their best of the season. This is one of their down days.

When was the last time a team in the SEC went 19-0? Tennessee's undefeated season in 1998? You gotta tip your hats. SC really brought the goods.
SC went 19-0 in 2016. Only loss was to UConn in the regular season.

SC looks great. Super quick team. IMO opinion though, they will have a game somewhere in the Tourney where their shots don't fall and they will have to win with D. That's where their youth will be tested. Right now though they look unstoppable.
The good thing about when SC shot is not falling, is that SC leads the nation in offensive rebounding.

A major reason why they’ve been crushing teams by huge margins.

Vic should have not played her 38 minutes against Kentucky. He has a deep bench so there is no need to play a player that much knowing you have a game the next day.

Again it is easy to arm chair quarterback a coach but you have to win the game you are playing in order to play the next one. The KY score is deceiving because the game was still close up until late in the 4th Quarter.

So while you want to rest your best players , a 10-12-14 point lead is not very safe at all. A couple of TO’s and the other team hits two or three threes and all of the sudden your comfortable lead is down to 4-5 points.

So I can’t really fault him for keeping her in the game yesterday. If we don’t win that game....

Amihere needs ALOT of work.

If South Carolina could advance without facing Oregon that would be great.

But that's probably the matchup of the two best regular season teams. Just my opinion.

I think Oregon should be considered the overall favorite due to the experience advantage.

South Carolina is a really good team, if the latest Creme bracket is close to the committee’s South Carolina should cruise to the FF. Can they beat Oregon, I think so.

I'd prefer not to have Oregon State as a 4.

UCONN - Arkansas in the second round? Ha, that would be worth popping some corn to see if it could get fun.

The latest bracket also has Miss St in Fort Wayne as the 3 seed. If it plays out that way that would be a favorable draw for the Bulldogs IMO! Hope we get to see another matchup in the FF!:)
